I'm a little curious why you fellas have decided to put the ricordia on the sand vs. attaching it to some of your rock work. They won't grow and propagate unless they can grow outward will they?

Beautiful specimens, and I have a couple on the way for me too :) Waiting for a MJC order is like trying to sleep on Christmas eve.

We like to do "gardens" style with rics so we can control their propagation.Plus we find that rics get really big under shaded area.

So fixing them to live rock would let them propagate as they wish and keeping them attached to rocks in the sand bed forces them to stay small.

My plan is to use them as coverage for my rock over broad areas in the middle to low portions of my tank.

I just like to control where my coral grows, but you can put them anywhere you like. In my experience i find mushrooms love shades / low light area.

mushrooms split so i dont think it matters where they grow as they are not encrusting;)
