who makes there own Live Phytoplankton
 

would like to start making my own anybody got any tips

I've been making my own for 9 months now.

Buy a jug with a lever operated spout vs pop bottles.
Sanitize everything (water included)
Keep Rotifers away if your culturing them.
Don't expect to get ultra dark phyto plankton like reef nutrition sells. Their's is run through a centrifuge apparently.
Don't overdose your tank (my skimmer goes crazy)

There is a guy here in Edmonton who cultures his own phyto/rotifiers/pods....

Goes by mameroo2000. Hes done a workshop during a fragfest and his setups are for sale. He'll school ya on phyto for sure!!!

Search him up, pick his brain!

i get my phyto and pods from him and it is top quality!!! Great guy too!
