Suggestions for boosting Audio to recording equip ...
I don't want to spend $1100.00 on the Shaw whole-home system yet, so I'm using what I have
I have 2 cable boxes and a DVD-r I've made a lot of connections and the audio has dropped some I've looked online to find a booster for the audio, but I've had no luck Any suggestions ? |
What you need is a line level preamplifier like the kind for turntables. With it you could increase the gain to the distant amplifier.

Older (smaller cables) can't handle the capacity. Also splitters need to be put together correctly. I found this out from shaw as when they split the load that some channels carry drops |
Switch to Telus. You'll get whole home pvr for 3 tvs free. And they'll give you a free 42" tv on a 3 year term

AP-25 I'll have to ask them if I can try it out on a returnable basis The splitters I'm using are junk, so it's causing the degradation Thanks for the input guys |

Thanks RD
I just placed the order |
Hopefully that fixes it. Did you try just boosting the coax signal coming in? I have one of these you can for free if you want to try it:

Thanks for the offer Aqua
It's the RCA audio signal from the downstairs cable box that is lacking If I record from the upstairs box all is normal The signal from downstairs is split to the TV there and to the DVD-r upstairs I'm hoping this does the trick and if not, I'll live with turning up the amp when watching recordings from downstairs |
