Im sooooo done with CUBA!
 

We just got back from a wonderful 1 week stay at the iberostar laguna azul in Varadero. We went down with my wife's family, we were a group of 8. Good times were had by all.

So why am i done? Every freaken time I get back into Canada its seems that my body goes trough some sort of detox and shuts the heck down. We got back on Monday and I'm finally staring to feel better. I've had 4 days of fever, sinus congestion and the worst morning sickness ever (no I'm not expecting lol). I had 2 bowls of soup in 4 days! Today was the first day that I was able to keep some solids down.

This has happen 3 out of the 5 times I've been there. This is the LAST time!

Next year.. ITALY!

here's the major tropical diseases known in Cuba. (rest of Carribbean similar). Some are mosquito borne. Used to work in science on mosquito borne diseases. Sounds a bit like some kind of virus, may or maybe not mosquito borne. Could be anything though really.

I say the same thing about Vegas been there 8 times and been sick every time I come back but in my case its the cigarette smoke down there that gets me just walking through the casinos is enough to murder my throat thankfully I don't gamble so never have to stay on the floors too long. I've lost my voice 3 times and swollen throat every time and Dr. Tells me its the smoke irritating my throat.

But I am a sucker for punishment going back this fall got more shows to see and shopping to do. It's funny I don't drink, smoke, gamble and here I go to a city where all are heavily prevalent :biggrin:

Could it be the crowded airplane?
I seem to be sick (cold or flu) when I get home from a trip. I'm hearing that they don't add new air, just recirculate the old

Im never going back to mexico after getting sick there , not worth the 3 lost days of vacation running to the bathroom , cold sweats and fever .That's why its maui or nothing now .

Is your bacteria in your body. You don't have those type of bacteria to fight it off. Every time you go vacation you need some type of shots from the doctor. Just like your fish tank.

It's probably the crowded airplane that got you sick. People go there with and party their rears off and then for the trip home are so run down they can't fight off the virus and then lucky you get to breath the same air as them for six hours...

Petty crime is really bad in Italy, my buddy that went over there three years ago was mugged twice!

Could of been a plethora of things, yeah maybe even the airplane....who knows. Im glad the penicillin cured what ever the heck it was and Im glad it was my and not my wife or kid!

I'm Italian and when I head home I don't visit the polluted, overpopulated and overpriced cities (well except Rome! Most beautiful architecture on Earth!). The small towns are truly what Italy us all about.

I was sick for over a week with the same issues you've had
Running to the can every 2 hours on the button too, asleep or not :surprise:

I will never again touch my face etc on a plane without first using some hand sani
And none of their food either

I just got back from a week in Vancouver last week and have been fighting the worst flu/sinus/bronchitis situation ever! 2nd day back, came home for lunch and felt too weak to go back to work. Missed a week of work and counting! Booooo!!

After Cuba 2 yrs ago (loved it!!) but ended up on an IV after the sand flea bites became worse 2 days after my return home. No wonder people have "staycations", but I wouldn't have missed the snorkeling for anything
