Edmonton Saltwater Swapmeet - June 23, 2013
 

I thought I would see if there was any interest on having a garagesale/swapmeet type of thing where people can come and sell frags, equipment, etc.
like Fragfest but in the northend verses the southend.
I am willing to host it at my house, I have a large area where we can set up tables.
I am willing to do the BBQ thing with proceeds going to the Food Bank.
what do you think???
plus I will see what I can do for doing up a frag blowout
if there is no interest, then I will let it go.
if there is interest, then we will try it.
if it works well, maybe it can become a bi-annual thing - kicking off the summer and sometime in the fall.
BTW, all stores in edmonton are welcome to participate if they so desire.

I like the idea. Just a bright idea not Father's Day weekend as many people will have other priorities.

I'm interested. Willing to volunteer some time to help too!

This makes sense Father's Day is June 16 and I'm in Seatle visiting my sister June 6-10. So if its on June 2, 23 or 30 Doug and I will be there.

start making those frags to exchange/sell
I will set up a couple of tables for people to use.
I will make it legal like and get a garage sale permit and start advertising the event to my non-canreef customers and on Kijiji.

If any other stores want to participate, just announce your intention on this thread.

I am 4 hours away in fort mac, I will do my best to get there.

since joining the hobby i haven't had a chance to converse with too many other reefers so i will be joining in if thats ok also.

plus free give aways of equipment as I want to clear some stuff out.

All edmonton reefers, this is the time to clear out your fish room of all that extra stuff..

I might come out. I think my brother is headed through Edmonton that weekend and I want to meet up with him. What time do you plan on starting up?

I plan on stopping by, already have some frags growing :)

I normally work until 3 to 4 am on Saturday nights driving drunks around..so an early start would not be a good thing..lol
it will be during my normal business hours of 12 to 5.
that way I have some time to set things up in the morning with more than 3 hours sleep.

I am willing to donate the grill and food.
However, I am going to need to run my store part.

I'll be there. I'll bring softies for the most part. Maybe a few LPS and SPS.

I'm going to come by and have a look. In the market for a tank upgrade, so if there's something there that catches my eye.....it's on! Lol. Oh, and I'll probably walk away with a bunch of corals too. Lol

There is an Edmonton buy/sell saltwater group on Facebook so I shared the info of this BBQ meet with them :biggrin: Can't wait, here's hoping the rain stops!

I do have a rain contingency plan as well
I can pull out the limo out of my garage and we can have everything in there

Just to clarify as a couple people have asked.
yes, you can bring equipment, frags, corals, fish whatever it is you want to sell, swap or trade.
that is the whole point of this..lol

i will have the 175g bow-front up for sale. i wont be bringing it with me due to the fact its a rather large pain to move it i will have pics and a price up soon. comes with oak stand pumps and sump. and delivery can be arranged.

just set cleaned up the garage in case of rain.

I have over a 200 lbs of various aquarium gravel, buckets of LR rubble, tanks, tanks and more tanks, fish food, sweetwater blower (commercial air pump), skimmers, aquarium plants, and lots of corals and frags.

Any putty?
