hi Steve,

Yes, J&L do carry Mexican Turbo Snails. They did a wonderful job cleaning off the red cotton-ball algae from my 15 gallon. They rock!

Hope this helps

are you sure they were "Mexican" and not regular turbo's? as they don't list them on there site. The "Mexican Turbo snail" is Turbo fluctuosus.

but J&L only lists Turbo sp.

at any rate I sent them a e-mail about it.. maybe they have them in a different tank and not on there site.

now do they have sea hairs

yes,

They came from Carribean/Gulf of Mexico. They did wonders to rid of the algae in my tank. Try a few.

I will try get some pics of the "After" and post them up in the next couple days.

Excellent news! How many snails do you still have?

StirCrazy 08-04-2004 02:56 AM

not sure.. over 1/2 of them anyways.. I lost 5 in the initial shipment out of 30 so I figure I might be down to 15 to 20 now.

Steve

EmilyB 08-04-2004 05:10 AM

 Does J&L stock those regularly?

StirCrazy 08-04-2004 01:44 PM

and here is an overall of the tank ( a little less colorfull than a couple months ago as my temp was up to 90 a lot while I was gone. hooked up the chiller today so that won't be happening again)
let me know if this picture is comming up kinda dark.. looks fine on my laptop but dark on my home monitor.
