How well do they sit in frag racks/eggcrate? They look a little top heavy to me?

11purewater 02-27-2013 02:29 AM

Top heavy = swearing me thinks

11purewater 02-27-2013 02:30 AM

They sit pretty good in a "I like to roll" style since they are kinda round. Although the surface is very smooth, the glue and a frag did hold to in a matter of like 10secs or something.

Ah well...umm...yah I am struggling since I can't get LEDs but well; $16 is like a day meal which I can skip somehow ;)

Sorry, I'm not sure what that means. To me "sit pretty good" would mean they would NOT like to roll, at all. :-)

Here's a pic :D

I guess german reefers don't use eggcrates to keep frags :P Since these have a roundish bottom, you can like, get a joystick like motion (bingo! found the right way to describe it!) But these should sit smoothly in actual frag racks.

Oooooo I have a bunch of those laying around the twins don't need any more. See if the wife notices.

:/

Seems like a bit of a waste to fly/ship something across the ocean for such a minor quirk. JMO >______>

But then again, I'm just a Negative Nancy.

Carry on.

Marlin65 02-27-2013 09:45 PM

I have actually made some like that from baby bottle nipple molds.
They were a bit of a pain to get out though. But the end result looks just like that LOL

Well didn't cost more than the ones available in LFS. Hence the story :)

They don't scream German ingenuity but the price is ok I guess although they are cheaper on eBay from Isreal. $30 for 105 plugs with free shipping, smaller quantities available as well.

Just don't play with them to much before they're cured

sphelps 02-28-2013 02:33 AM

Sorry I thought Eilat was in Isreal.

Ok so I goggled it and Eilat is actually in Israel. Don't know why ebay has "Germany" written on it as the country. To solve the mystery, I looked at the envelop it came it and it is actually Israel.

Thanks for the correction Steve :D
