Finally!
Well, good week for fish. Finally got the black leopard wrasse I've been after for 3 years, and finally a healthy achilles tang, after searching for 12 years.
I've known the wrasse for a few years, and he's gone right into the display from a trustworthy tank. The achilles is in QT for a week for treatment with CP, then upstairs to see some of his old friends. Pics to come :) |
Nice score.
|
Cool! Good luck with the transfer and QT and settling in and all that. Pictures soon please!
|
The tang is pretty bullet proof. I've known it for 2 years, it used to live in the display at Pro Reef..just want to hit it with CP as preventative before it goes upstairs.
|
Woop! looking forward to see him
|
Hey awesome! Can't wait to see pics
|

Oh, and those spots are on the glass, not the fish :)
|
B.E.A.U.tiful! Always nice to see a heathy example of such a hard to keep species.

Most of the fish in my 180 used to live with this guy, I hope they remember each other -lol |
reunited at last!
|
Brad, glad to hear you got fish!
|
nice fish again Brad maybe once the cue is setup I will be able to have one with my powderblue
|
Ok, not sure why I thought that would work well. Powder Blues DO NOT like Achilles one little bit....

hows your new buddy doing besides that eating everything you offer? |
I'm shocked!! (Not really). That's a tough call to make.. Powder Blue or Achilles.. #FirstWorldProblems ?

Ya, eating well, even in the first 30 seconds in 180. |

Are you doing the mirror trick?

Lights out is helping while I find a smaller mirror |
Use one.. It works like a charm! Go to the dollar store or london drug and get a hand held one.. Mine has a hole in the handle and I hang it on the outside of the tank with a magnet holder.

The mirror trick worked wonderfully. For less than a second :) I turned the blue channel on (try that with MH!!) and it seems the PB "may" let the Achilles exist. For now.

Oh and oooooh black leopard.......sooooo cool. Had one for a short while once, loved her. Maybe one day again. Can't wait to see them both in there.
|
Was home for lunch today, looks like the Achilles is ok as long as he doesn't go near the food clip. Then it's on. I'll give him his own dinner tonight. I may not have to drain the tank afterall!! :)
