Not sure what is going on, Need Help
I'm not entirely sure what is going on here. I first thought low flow and adjusted. I don't think It's the BTS behind as I have never seen it's tenticals near.
Any suggestions? J http://www.3reef.com/uploads/Acro0515.JPG |
RTN??(rapid tissue loss)
|
Naw. Doesn't look like RTN. Could be the bubble tip. Is there a powerhead pointing directly at that spot?
|
Is there enough left to frag, maybe you can save it.
|
What are the tank parameters?
|
Power head is on it but not directly. Some polyps at the base are out at night
Tank Perameters Temp 79-81 SG 1.025 CA 390 dKH 8.4 PH 8.3 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate 5 Has not been moved, but I have noticed Rappid growth over the last few weeks. No major changes just added a Wave Maker. Which has increase the flow to the Acro. Will have the BTA out of the Tank in the next two weeks. Jason |
Water looks OK. I'd work on getting NO3 lower, but that shouldn't be the problem here. Is it just that piece? It could be the change in current, but I wouldn't think that should cause tissue loss. If it's not receding quickly, I'd just leave it for now. Moving and fragging or glueing could accelerate the problem. Watch for a while first.

Thanks Brad I will keep my eye on it and let you know how it is doing

sorta looks like what mason is going through right now
=o( wonder what it is temp. swing? |
You don't want a bta anywhere near a coral ime.....
 The LTA is less agressive, even the sebae.... |

My current BTA stays put.....thank goodness..... The maroons discard any frags placed nearby... It's a left handed tank right now...
I do know a bta took out a birdsnest because I was not yet well informed enough to move it.... |
I agree with Brad to see what happens for a little bit. You never know as well if you have perhaps a small biological war going on in the tank and this coral could be more sensitive to it.
FWIW, yesterday my BTA decided to hang out behind my green cap, took out a good section of it pretty quickly before we dealt with it. Rob |
