Profilux 2 questions (help please)
 

I have a couple questions and was hoping to figure it out....
I would like to add another power bar and was wondering how to connect it. I have 2 of the 6 outlet powerbars and a 4 pump doser daisy chained together into port s1-s4. I would like to add this powerbar to my setup....

Is this possible?

I would also like to connect the GHL View to my system but I'm using the serial port but I have profilux to sol cable connected in this port. Can I split this port to use both?

( I can use another P2 plus if need be but would prefer to not use it if I dont have to)

the power bar 4 socket can only be plugged into S1S4 or S5S8 on its own, my suggestion would be to move the digital bars and doser to S5S8 and change the program numbering accordingly. In this instance the first digital power bar would be programmed to react to socket 5-10 second one 11-16 and doser onwards.

The RS232 port can not be split you would need PLM-RS232 for this - this is special order.

I'm not using S5-S8 can I just plug it in there (its a P2)

Is there still a kit to upgrade p2 ex to P3?

No as it will clash with the other power bars and dosers, it must start at 1-4 in this case

You can plug it into S5-S8, it won't clash.

It's an analog power par so you can't set the numbering, it'll work off numbers 5-8 so make sure your digitals and dosing pumps don't use those numbers, ie set digital to start @ 11.

He has a couple of digitals and a doser so might as well utilise S1S4 save the S1-S4 sockets going to waste unless he put the doser on that.

Both ways work two stones for one bird.

Pretty sure on P2 digitals have to run off S1-4. At least that's how I remember it.

ok. but the 6 outlet powerbars and doser will work on the s5-s8 port, as long as I assign them appropriately. Correct?

as long as you have the latest software and firmware it can run off S5S8 as far as i remember (P2 already stretching the grey matter :) its been a while )

under socket function outlet it tells you the possible numbering available. down the bottom by program power bar /doser

Yes - email me if stuck. I know the P2 has a limit how high you can go I think its 18

just curious, can a second P2 hook up and work as expansion box??

99% sure digitals will only work on S1-S4

From manual:

I know cause I had the exact same setup, 2 digitals, 1 doser & 1 analog. All on a P2, you just have to set digital numbering to start at 9 or higher, I used 11 for simplicity. Numbers 1-4 can't be used.

Digitals work on S5S8 100% check your software you will see it ;)

So if I read that right my best option would be to plug it in S5-S8 and reprogram my current power bars and dosers to avoid sockets s5-s8.

My software says s5-s8 profilux 3 only

Yes as far as I know. If you can use digital on S5-8 then that's a better option but the latest manual for latest firmware on P2 states otherwise. P3 however allows this which I run now so I can't check for you.

I'm sure I can get it to work just hate messing with it now that I have everything programmed and running smoothly. In all reality I just want to put a power bar closer to a few devices instead of running a cord across the tank.

If I just broke down and bought a p3 would that make things easier?

it would give you access to all the latest products, and all accessories other than the box are transferrable
