gallons per sq ft
OK, we have a "number of tanks per person" thread. But another indicator of lunacy is the amount of indoor tank water you have per sq foot of home.
Mine's .063 gallons per sq ft. What about you?   |
Man Sam, thats really reachin'

Re: gallons per sq ft
Currently have .094g per sq ft. When the new tanks arrive we will have .149g per sq ft. Dang, that's not counting the 2 Qtanks, though, or the two 30g rubbermaid containers of RO/DI water waiting to be salted and used
|
Well I'm going to consider my tank room the dedicated space so.
.127 |
2800sq ft home.
261.5g of tanks running... 0.093 in a month or so... will be at 500gish. :) 0.178 then. wow. |
When we are done with our expansion of our warehouse...4 gal per sq ft!!!

I think anybody with more than one tank is a fanatic    |
when the new display tank is in the living room this summer we will be at least 1.875gallons/sq foot in the house, the seperate garage will be between 20-25gallons/sq foot, yeah for silly large tanks
|
Of course, a person could have two 2,000 gallon tanks, and if their house was as large as Bill Gates', it would make them look like, well, not fanatics. So it's a bit of a tough measure to put in perspective.

I just worked mine out to 0.143 gal/sq^ft (2100 sq^ft house)

2 tanks - .041 (big house, small tanks?)
 ...let's keep this in perspective, people! |

Every measure needs a qualifier... post your gallons per square foot as well as total square footage, and then scale everyone against a 2000 square foot benchmark.
|
we have an old post war house downtown kelowna, only about 900sq/ft, with a display in the livingroom totaling over 1500 gallons, plus some other smaller stuff.... then the garage will house the 7500+ shark tank, and a few thousand gallons of other holding tanks, garage will only be about 450 or so sq feet, lots of gallons per sq feet and it looks like even more cuz the place is soo small...

I agree with Sam, but an even better indicator than this or % of net, might be Time Spent... this is priceless and weighs against our other priorities (such as job and family, for instance) and might tell more about us than we're comfortable with.  |
Ok well I'm 0.075 gal/ft^2. 1% of my house is aquarium if you pretend my tank is a flat surface. Does that make sense? I think I lost myself.
|
.20
20% of total upstairs and down.... |
How are we translating into a percentage?
I'm at 0.1 gallons per square foot. Does that mean 10%? Before my move I was at .22 so of course NOW I feel totally inadequate. Thanks a lot, guys!! I'll just have to build a system ever-so-slightly larger than everyone else's!!! |
I just roughly visualized all the water on the floor and figure it's actually closer to 90%.......
