If it is RLSS DC pumps it is very very quite. DC5000 minimal vibration and very quite. I hope it is gonna last long enough :)

Xadieu 01-16-2013 08:56 PM

Waterblaster 2600gpm or Speedwave 2600gph

Which is a better pump and why?

mark 01-17-2013 03:58 AM

can you control the controller, eg does it has a input that would allow you to vary the speed with another device (Arduino board or such)

Edmonton newbie 01-17-2013 04:33 AM

denny what do you mean by in stack? do you have so many that they are stacked to the roof or is this more of your townie slang?

Phil 01-17-2013 09:01 AM

Question on the dc pumps can they just be controlled off the variable voltage plug on a apex controler or do u have to use pumps controler ?

You can only use the pump controller as of now, rumors of 0-10V external control are around but nothing released as far as I know. There may be issues relating to the ability to pulse or ramp the pumps up and down too quickly, not sure the pumps can handle it.

Jeff, these pumps are super quite! I have one of the DC10000 running my 165 and it is so quite that I sometimes have to touch it to see if its still running

lockrookie 01-17-2013 08:35 PM

imo both are awesome pumps waterblasters ive never had anything bad to say , fairly quiet, high efficiency, and little vibrations, plus yheyve been around so not new technology.

speedwave are dead quiet( so far im finding anyways) , variable speed , low vibrations but they are dead new product so hard to say where they will be in 3 yrs.

for my new 75g i was torn between the waterblaster 7000 or the speedwave 1320 , in the end i decided speedwave , i wanted to try them out..... reviews for the wavelines were good so i figured what the hell, after plugging in mine last night im happy with it so far:)

not right now but i imagine they will incorporate all those goodies as they get more common, right now this is a new product and im guessing they wanted to keep it basic, i however would like to see it incorporated in the future:)

they are identical to wavelines ,exact same pump and manufacter just different distributor.

they are from proline aquatics.

I seen that right after I posted the question but then got distracted by this little back box that keeps making noise when people want to talk to me.

I was going to say that they look like the exact same pump and the box is kind hokie.

Denny my pump will be in my basement. It'd be nice to be able to completely turn it off from upstairs with the controller. Does the speed control allow you to step down to zero (off) ? I don't think the feed timer (10 min) will be long enough for me to do things like water changes and feed my acan plus...

no from what i can tell it doesnt die completely but close for sure , plus i believe the cord is like 10ft , the controller isnt wireless so not too sure if it will make it upstairs;)

lastlight 02-15-2013 10:56 PM

sump will be elevated in basement so it should reach =)

hmmm... might have to get me an apex so i can just turn it off with my phone. i wonder what speed it comes back on at after losing power?

subman 02-15-2013 11:00 PM

If it's the same as the Waveline it will come back at the speed it went off at. Feed mode is off.
