New Xenia Frag - Gone in 2 hrs!
Just want to share this with fellow reefers... I bought my 1st frag of pulsing Xenia yesterday from J&L. I was pretty excited to show it off to my kids once it has settled in the tank. Unfortunately it didnt stand a chance. As soon as I put it in the tank, I saw my Demsel started nipping on it. I thought*that the little bugger*didn't like where I put the frag so I moved it lower to get the it out of its territory. I took a 2 hrs nap, woke up n found that the 2" frag has vanished!
I thought that my Demsel was just curious of the new coral since it has never touched any other corals ever since i got him. Never thought that it loves Xenia so much that it took it as snack! So now you know that not all Demsels are reef safe, at least mine isn't. She is one Xenia Lover! |

Probably a good thing, stuff can grow like crazy and take over a tank. It's nice to look at but tough to get rid of.

+1 I think the damsel did you a favor . The last thing you need is xenia taking over a nice tank like that.

lol but guys, OP originally went out on purpose to go BUY the stuff. lol.

Thanks. Good to know. I'm definitely going to have to monitor my ORA Red Sea Pom Pom Xenia with my damsels when mine arrives. Could be an expensive meal.
