Nice! I'm thinking of one day swapping out my Radiums for these. Actually it's a toss up between these and maybe the new Orphek DIF-xp pendents but the Kessils handily trounce the Orpheks on price and availability.

How high is that tank? What did you have before the Kessils?

tank is 120 aqueon. 48x24x24 and I was using Coralife Aqualight pro before
2x250w MH and 2 96watt PC, + 4 one watt moonlights totalling 700 watts of power usage. The Kessils are rated at 90 watts each, so I think the energy savings would be a lot, down the road, and no bulb replacements. Loving it.

What I like best about them is the ability to change the colors manually.
I'm old school and don't like having to program things electronically.

awesome...i'm torn between kessil a350w,AI Vega or the new radion G2 for my 33 gallon tank which is lit by 3 ecoxotic panorama pro modules and 2 stunners.

for fish only, 2 a350w 's should be enough over a 6 foot tank. If you were doing corals, then you would need 3 of them

Nice! I have 2 of the Kessil A350W Tuna Blues over my tank as well. I see you've got some clams in there, what kinds are they?

I keep reading that maxima and many other clams need MH lighting... LEDs being so new, I haven't seen any info on whether LED's are strong enough for most clams coloring to thrive under them. I really want to add a clam or two to my tank, so seeing yours under the same lights as I have makes me so happy!!!

Hows the color on your clams? They look awesome from what I can tell!

the clams seem even better under the led's than they were under my 250watt metal halides before

Are those the wide angle lenses?

I really like what kessil is doing.

mandyplo 11-13-2012 04:14 AM

Oh and what kind of a tang is that? A sohal tang? He looks absolutely beautiful!!

Yes, wide angle lenses. My tank is 48x24x24 and 2 kessil wide angles covers the whole tank nicely.

Yep! That's the master of the tank. Had him since he was a baby, about 3 and a half years now

Do you think they could be stretched out to cover 60" across?

My tank is 60x18x24 and I'm thinking about getting 2, with the possibility of adding a 150 if need be. I am not looking for a perfectly evenly lit tank but I don't want too extreme of a shadow. I'm currently using a 4 foot T5 fixture over the 5 foot tank and this has served me well.

Should be ok if you doing softies and lps. If sps, would suggest 3 a350 regulars( not wide angle ) if your tank is 24" deep. If your tank is only 18" deep, could possibly get away with 2 a350 w ( wide angles)

Reefgoat 11-14-2012 01:18 AM

Would one a350w work well over a 30x30x12 frag tank?

12" deep? No problem.
