Crab killer??

Found bits of my extra large blue hermit crab in one corner of the tank. Positive its not a molt.

Here's the list of suspects
Blue tang
Tominini tang
Yellow tang
Sailfin tang
Blue throat trigger

If its who I think....there will be a murderer up for grabs....:twised:

Cal_stir 11-02-2012 01:16 AM

I'm guessing TRIGGER.

Coralgurl 11-02-2012 01:25 AM

Ohhhh I don't like that answer.....

ocean diver 11-02-2012 03:45 AM

Not to point a finger but the trigger did it....

subman 11-02-2012 03:53 AM

Colonel Trigger did it in the den with a razor sharp beak because he hates the crabs

subman 11-02-2012 03:56 AM

..... And crabs is evil! I would keep the trigger and loose the crabs mini brittles and bristles will take over.

naesco 11-02-2012 04:09 AM

Tangs are loving, caring, respectful, and friendly to all God's ocean critters.

The TRIGGER done it!!!!

daniella3d 11-02-2012 04:10 AM

It could be a wrasse too if you have one. My checkerboard use to grab them and smash them on the liverock until they were out of their shell and then he would kill them and often not even eat it. Seem that fish was killing for fun.

My niger trigger does not kill anything at all.

jorjef 11-02-2012 04:12 AM

Give the trigger a medal one less evil crab.....

Aquattro 11-02-2012 04:12 AM

My trigger never killed anything. Until the lights came on. Then it was snack time.

Coralgurl 11-02-2012 04:15 AM

I LOVE my trigger so I'm gonna say no, can't possibly be him. my boy hangs out on the right side, always. The evidence was left on the opposite side of the tank where my solar wrasse hangs out.....He's gotta be the guily one!! The wrasse and crab came out of the same tank, must of been along time hate thing!!

jorjef 11-02-2012 04:24 AM

Okay three cheers for the wrasse HIP HIP HOORAY . oh get the medal back from the trigger

I thought you said you suspected someone and there was going to be a murderer up for grabs

Maybe the trigger dropped the leavings in the wrasse territory to implicate it

Wasn't me mommy

mrhasan 11-02-2012 05:48 AM

Triggers are known to hunt down shark babies in places outside their territories so that shark mommy/daddy doesn't know it was the triggers. Sharks always thinks it the clownfishes and hence they go after their eggs. :)

If that's true it's very interesting

I thought it was maybe a bad tang as I have 2 that have some attitude that needs adjusting.

If the trigger pulled the trigger well he's done a good job directing attention away from himself  I won't get rid of him!

MMAX 11-02-2012 06:20 PM

My blue throat must be one in a million. Crabs, shrimp and everything else are safe around him.

ocean diver 11-02-2012 06:29 PM

Agreed, keep trigger and get rid of the crabs, that is what I did and I love my Blue throated Trigger

Well I guess that's not totally true. He seems to love fighting with my Scopas although he gets the worst of it when the tang sticks him.
