That's awesome, Martin. :) are these things waterproof enough that they could be put in a nano cube or rsm canopy on the outside of the splash guard?

Yes they are completely waterproof! I dont recommend dipping them in water haha but they are not affected by salt splash and you can wipe them down with a damp cloth.

wow some one could run 5 of those on a tank would that be enough light Martin.

a cheap 350 bucks and you have leds like on the RED MAX 250

martinmcnally 10-30-2012 07:52 PM

If your going RSM 250 I would go with 6 of them, just because that would fit nicely and you would have 2 per foot. Also that way you can run 3 from one power supply and 3 from another.

kaboom 11-30-2012 01:41 PM

Hi Martin,
What wattage are these LED and what do they run at?
I am seeing info that states they are 12 x 1W LED's, and then I see the power comsumption of 19W. Can you clarify.

I have a 25g nano and want to add one RGB strip to enhance color to exiting light. Is this all I need?
1 RGB strip
1 12w power supply
1 RGB Controller

Controller:
Does it have settings to automatically turn on/off at specific times?
Does it have settings to automatically to controll fades (dusk to dawn affect) at specific times?
How does it connect to the RGB module?

Power consumption of the RGB module is 16watts. You can control the color but there is no timer to ability to automatically control fades. The remote connects to the module using infrared.

Got an email from them today about the controller. 3 more weeks they are saying. FedEx is picking up your EcoPico Thursday morning.

Madreefer 12-06-2012 05:21 AM

I use a couple of these to supplement my AI Sol Blues and planning on adding a couple more but waiting for the controllor to be released. You answered the power consumption question but not what the lights put out. I've searched the very question and have yet to get an answer. Do you know Martin?

Yea I have not see any PAR values either. Here is the full spec sheet: http://www.ecoxotic.com/community/wp..._Pro_Specs.pdf

NIVLEM09 12-06-2012 05:33 AM

That's fine,i can wait for the Ecopico led arm,no rush here:lol: from what Ecoxotic told me pertaining the RGB module is that they cannot sustain corals of all types...they're maily just for color accent.

Madreefer 12-06-2012 05:35 AM

Thanks. Any more info on this controllor?

NIVLEM09 12-06-2012 05:35 AM

three more week for the Ecoxotic controller?did they tell you the price point?

NIVLEM09 12-06-2012 05:39 AM

Ecoxotic controller?as far as i know, you do not need to connect it to a modem/internet unlike the controllers out there in the market right now.it's plug and play and everything can be done via a handheld remote

Madreefer 12-06-2012 05:55 AM

I already have 2 of the handheld remote controllors that they have now for the RGB's. Martin posted about a month ago about a new controllor coming out that will enable these lights to perform like the controllor I have with my AI's that do not have to be hooked up to the internet. Timers, dimming etc....

Coleus 12-06-2012 06:07 AM

how many of these do i need for 10 feet tank?

NIVLEM09 12-06-2012 07:03 AM

with this particular controller, you will have the ability to control the entire Ecoxotic led line,so you can hook up your rgb modules and dim.control them as well and do moving clouds as well.the maximum output is 220-240 watts,so you can connect multiple Ecoxotic leds to this bad boy:lol:

Is this true Martin? Are we talking a the 44 key remote control already released? Or is there something else coming out with built in timers? If so when can we expect to see this available?
