Pictures of my new cube
 

Thought I would post a couple of pictures of my 24"X18"X18" cube. The front and back are starfire. The lighting in the picture is a 175W pendant supplemented with a 65W PC Actinic. Don't be concerned about the colour as it is a crappy camera. :rolleyes:

I sold a bunch of zoos in Edmonton, so in effect the Edmonton folks bought the tank for me, and I did thank them profusely. :biggrin: :mrgreen:

Hmmm... looks pretty good for a non-SPS tank (brown fuzzy sticks don't count).

Who built the tank?

One detail...is 24 x 18 x18 a cube?

The tank was built by whoever builds tanks for Ocean Aquarium. I found out something interesting when I was cutting the black trim to accommodate some hang on stuff. It is eurobraced under the trim. :eek:

And when did the presence of SPS dictate whether a tank looks good, or not :question: IMVHO a tank looks better without SPS. :biggrin:

How thick is the glass, what did it cost you, and did you have a choice of silicone colour?

naa thats a rectangle.. but same as my 94 (25x24x36) the Americans still call it a cube :rolleyes: :mrgreen:

I like it very much, and yes there is a noticable differEnce. :mrgreen:

All I know is that I paid $140.00, but that included extra cost for the starfire, and the black trim, and a glass cover. Therefore, I don't know the base price without the extras. I do think he did a nice job. I am just a little sorry I did not have room for the first tank, which he made in error. It was 24"X24"X18" :sad:

What do you have for fish i there other than the two fire fish. How long has this tank been running

In addition to the two firefish there is also a Bicolor Blenny. As of today the tank has been set up two weeks, however, it houses the contents of the previous 20 gallon high tank. :mrgreen:

Two weeks now Bob! So you got another 7 weeks to go and then you will be switching tanks again :razz:

Wow, I hope not :eek: , but in my favour, I have not changed the 50 for a long time. :rolleyes:

Hello,

I love cube tanks, or L-shaped tanks (ie go into a corner behind the wall). There's a sense of depth and excitement gawking at these tanks.
