What the heck, I went from four to six in the same amount of time. What are you DOING BRO?

feeding it alot, it takes full size mysis and ocean fresh planton. but the tank its self is heavily fed several times a day.....its the same story with the candy apples too crazy growth.....id put it up there with the speed of mohawks.

id like to move it closer to the light but im afraid to interupts its growth , i imagine once this new batch of babys mature it will slow some then ill blast them with more light:)

to make this interesting the frag i got was orgionally bigger but split with a friend , we both started with pretty much the same size frag....i believe we are at par or close to:)

im curious to see how they grow in the coming months:)

I got three heads from Wayne in June (I think) I now have a frag of 5 and a colony of around 20.

I just moved the colony into the DT from my frag section so we will see what happens to the growth now

feed them , i guarantee they will grow faster, im at 7 polyps growth in the first month and im going to increase their feedings as ive slacked off a bit over the last couple of weeks:P

if anyone e wants to post there monster growth in this thread id love to have a few people to compare to as time goes by:)

What are you feeding them Denny?

I started of with one polyp from Denny. Bought about a month and a half ago and am up to 2 full size polyps and 3 baby polyps.

target feeding mysis and plankton to the frag its self, but am feeding a long line of fauna marin products to the tank several times a day for my nps corals:)

these things grow like crazy

i went from 1 polyp to 17 in about 2 months

I grew out two colonies, both from 3 heads. One was at about 15 and the other is at 25+ heads. All within a couple of months. No feeding on my end.

crap Im going in reverse. A month ago I got 9 polyps shipped.....now I have 2 and one of the polyps doesnt look good. So 1 healthy for sure..hahah. Sucks to be me.

weird guys lol so is it me or are the alberta monsters doing great while everyone else is at par or going backwards??

id believe it , like i said IME one of the faster growers out there:)

They key might be not having them shipped. Shipping probably puts undue stress on them making them more likely to melt. Also depending on the source they could be fresh fragged or established frags....

My growth is zero since I have none :biggrin: Anybody has a couple polyps that I can have to try?

its possible for sure although i had mine shipped to me and they got lost in transit for 30hrs by purolator and spent a ful day at 30degrees in a van to never get delivered, i rushed there last minute after fighting with them....i even made a post about it on the random thought thread ,a few of us did, alot of my order was dead or died right away but these guys were open in the box lol

the first week my friends looked great and mine looked weak like how they are in the first picture, they quickly turned around.


funny though how its like that , i grew a colonie of darth mauls to 200 or more polyps , fragged a bunch of them and everyone elses are growing like weeds and the small colonie i kept for my self melted within a couple weeks later.

i got a replacement frag of a few polyps and they melted almost overnight.

finally said ill take one more frag , got it off zoaelite a 1 poylp healthy frag and it to never lasted but a few days.

i dont understand how the same system grows them to that size , then cant even keep it alive for a week just a few months later .

my head hurts now lol

Its simple...it's all up.to the zoa gods it seems. Melt or thrive....its just a roll of the dice imo.

I've had some melt on me too, purple deaths melted and then came back... I don't get it.

On another note, I saw a large pod swim into one of my space monsters today and the space monster ate it :twised:

Gypsy's....of course its them!

Ive have lots doing great but have had cherry charms, dragon ball z and now space monsters melt. Makes me crazy when others are doing amazing.
