Frogspawn 'bubble'

Any idea what this action is all about ?
The bubble is on a skeletal 'rib', or to be clearer, I can see the skeleton through the bubble

Lots of 'strange' things happening in your tank today ;) my FS did something similar, but it was one of the 'tentacles' it got about an inch thick then a few days later went back to normal. Can't say why but I'm sure its nothing to worry about, your msn eating palys on the other hand, keep your fingers clear ;) :P

Ya, kinda strange
Maybe it's full of freshwater and is about to burst 'cause my refractometer isn't calibrated properly
( I have calibrated it, and J&L confirmed it today - it's good )

Honestly, I'm starting to question everything I do

Haha that's why I always ask before putting anything in my tank, and why I'm approaching 3000 posts :P way I see it is I can ask all I want and save the head aches. Mind you no matter how much you learn it seems there is always something more to know. At least thats what I find.

How'd the tank found btw? as well as things in general?

I think it's gas!! Have you been feeding the tank Reef Chili ?

marie 09-06-2012 05:40 AM

Frogspawns seem to do that occasionally, usually just before splitting. Doesn't seem to bother them so I wouldn't worry about it

*edit* although yours appear to be a torch coral not a frogspawn......

You think torch ???
I bought it as a frag from a local reefer and it was sold to me as a frog from his colony
You'll see the skeleton in the pic below

This is right after I brought it home from the frag swap @ Rich's

Would be kinda cool if it's getting ready to split, but I'd be surprised as it's still quite small ... 1" across or so

Wheelman76 09-06-2012 06:02 AM

My Frogspawn is doing the same thing and I was told that it is going to split , so it seems to be a good thing!

If it's the case, that's good
I'd be surprised as my little frog head is so small, why would it split now ...
