best place to buy tires

As the title says, I have to get 4 New tires asap as I blew my front tire this morning and the others aren't far behind, so I have to get winters and a decent set of used, anyone know where will have the best prices be it online or locally? Not looking for the high end perillis or hankooks etc just something to get me through winter and what not. My tire size is 225 75r 16

Thanks guys.

Hello - when I lived up in the Edm area, I sometimes bought used tires at a place on the north west side of Edm. I beleive they were called Dollal Tire. Always had good servce and price. I hope this helps.

Black gold in nisku sells slightly used tires for dirt cheap.

Online for new tires and or wheels is 1010 Tires.. I just got a set of wheels and hankooks and even with shopping they are way cheaper than anything I could find locally. There's also a $50 off code on their Facebook site.

What kind of vehicle? I have 2 sets of winters in my garage that I need to get rid of.

either costco with their lifetime flat repair and free rotations or 1010tires.

Marko, is it black gold tire or whats the store name? Sorry not familiar with the place, thanks for the tip btw :)

Coralgurl 09-05-2012 07:42 PM

I will check what they are tonight and let you know, but I'm pretty sure they are too small. The one set was used 3 winters, not sure about the other set but they look in good condition (not on rims).

I'm looking for new winters as well....the pricing difference between on line and the stores for me is over $700 in total....worth looking at.

Coralgurl 09-05-2012 08:14 PM

Sorry Nano, my tires won't work for ya!

MarkoD 09-05-2012 08:14 PM

It just called black gold. They take parts and tires off cars that get totaled. I've bought tires with 90% tread on them for 100 dollars for a set of 4.

Nano 09-05-2012 08:21 PM

Holy cow thanks Marko

Nano 09-05-2012 08:57 PM

Props to you Marko, I called blackgold found a set of Dunlop radials with 75%+ tread for 150

Sherwood dodge sold me 20" coopers that were takeoffs. Still bran new installed for 1000 bucks. The tires in store where 1600 not installed

I'm totally filing that one away in my brain. Thanks, Marko.

The last time I purchased tires for my truck, they were over $1800.

MarkoD 09-05-2012 10:38 PM

Brand new tires are 80% markup. Biggest rip off

Oh and one of the owners of black gold has a reef tank

Nano 09-05-2012 10:49 PM

Yeah that's ridiculous. Maybe I should go in with a frag and see if I can get em for $50 ;)

reef-keeper 09-06-2012 04:36 AM

You can also try pick and pull on the west end. They sell rims and tires cheap as well. They are the kidney foundation sponsor up here.

blacknife 09-06-2012 05:09 AM

Do they do mounting and install? I have only been to the brandname shops with my work trucks but it all ways seems pricy. Heh trying to sell my beater 91 acclaim right now and it needs new treads as one is so blistered it shakes the whole front end. can't justify spending much money on a car barely worth 500$.

reef-keeper 09-06-2012 11:10 AM

No just sell. One more thing you might have to take them off yourself.

MarkoD 09-06-2012 12:26 PM

I think black gold also delivers to most tire shop in the city. You just gotta tell them where you're getting them installed
