FS: used C-050 1/2HP Aquarium Chiller (BBY)

I bought this used from a fellow boardmember spring 2011.
(not sure how long it was used for by him)

anyhow, i just got around to try setting it up. bought a bunch of pvc and fittings to hard plumb it. sure enough, i dont have enough power to run this thing. i was even going to run a new breaker for it, but after checking the panel i used the last slot already adding a breaker for the lights a few years back.

so i'll let this go for $300 obo. will throw in the plumbing that i just bought, mostly 3/4". (roughly $60-80 worth)

Local pick up only!

Their site doesn't list it, but my 1/2hp chiller pulls 9 amps.

Do you still have this?

acepumping 01-08-2013 03:57 PM

Why dont you just take out a smaller breaker and double up on one that is used only for a small amount of lughts in your place. Very easy to do

banditpowdercoat 05-11-2013 01:40 PM

Doubling up wires on a breaker in your panel is against Canadian Electrical Code. Has to be done in a junction box outside the panel box.

Do you have any way to get it to the island by any chance?

I'll be in Cloverdale at the end of the month if you can work something out there..I may get into Burnaby on the Saturday evening, but not sure yet.

Thanks Brad. I actually have an Eshine 60w unit too that I won't really need once I transfer my tank contents. That date is still TBD though. I wonder if half a horse is big enough for my setup too. I'd like to have it just in case though.

Aquattro 05-11-2013 03:55 PM

I have a 1/2HP that I bought from Franko. He thought it was just slightly too small for his tank. Yours is only a 1/4 of his, so I think you should be good with a 1/2HP

Jaws 05-11-2013 04:03 PM

Ok cool. I'll send him a message.

smokinreefer 05-13-2013 08:11 AM

PMs responded to.

Jaws, youre actually first in line...

and hey, i'm getting email notifications again

smokinreefer 05-15-2013 03:38 AM

i'm gonna say the chiller is pending.
got some arrangements to hash out still.

if it doesnt work out, i'll PM other interested parties in the order i was contacted.
