Thanks to Dave@ concept to help me build tank, and Dennis and his buddy,Kevin, to help me setting this up, weeeee. More coming.... soon i hope

This is how i hauled my stand home, just like a boss

This is great I'm hoping to do a 10 footer in the next year or so built into a wall similar to your setup. Will your filtration be under the tank or in a separate room?

I was just thinking "Is that Denny?" guess it is  The Denis remark threw me off.

10 feet is awesome, I want a 10 foot long tank someday too.

reefwars 06-05-2012 04:22 AM

The plan was under the tank because i prefer everything at the same place so it is easier to see what is going on but i may change my mind and have it in another room to avoid the the pump noise.

Thanks for everyone input, now pressure is on lol

Seriak 07-30-2012 07:12 PM

Any updates?

Coleus 07-30-2012 07:30 PM

sorry, it has been a very slow process, but anyway, the tank was got built on site last Friday and right now it is sitting in the middle of the floor :-(. I did not put lots of throughout thoughts into building this tank thus I am getting sloppy result. Couple mistakes i made so far (already yes already)

1) I initially gonna put sump under my stand, so i build stand higher than normal to fit my skimmer, but now i decide to put sump in the other room so it is kind of suck now i can't reach the bottom of my tank without a step.

2) Did not leave any room behind the tank so it is going to be suck to reach the back side of the tank (now the frame and floor is in, nothing i can do to fix it although i have the space to do it)

Again, i wish i have more time to think more about designing of my system but just can't find time with all workloads i currently have.

So here is the pict of the tank right now, thanks to Dave at Concept Aquariums and Denny(reefwars) to help putting this together

Next, need to find some helpers to put the tank in place. It is so heavy. Any volunteers? :-) pizza and drink will be served

JDigital 09-02-2012 04:32 AM

So.. Did you get it up on the stand yet?

I did, actually we did with help from Dave and Denny and some good friends.

Here is picture as of today

http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/pic...pictureid=5587

now, looking for panels and cabinet that can fit well with it. Did not really plan out this tank at all and now everything will have to custom to fit this bad boy

Coleus 11-15-2012 02:24 AM

Al right, I guess i am the slowest person of all on here. Just got some spare time and motivation to get this tank going. So today, I moved the tank to final position and start filling tank for leak test. So far so good, no leak :-). Next is plumbing which should be complete on Sunday hopefully.

Dude you are slower then tony. Hahahahahahahahaaahah.

Wait a minute NO YOUR NOT!!!!!!!!

Mike-fish 11-15-2012 03:06 AM

This is going to be a sweet tank once it's online. Ps your not the slowest one to get a build rolling a buddy of mine has been playing with a 375g he bought at least 4 years ago that we got into place and has a very thick layer of dust on it same story for his 90g he got a year or so ago. So don't feel bad.

Coleus 11-15-2012 03:33 AM

lol thanks guys.

Man it took 2 hours to fill this "Sweet" tank with full open from my washroom faucet but I kind of get this huge excitement to see water in there because I start to imagine all things i can have in my tank. Now I know why ppl keep asking me "Have you filled your tank with water yet?"

mrhasan 11-15-2012 05:21 AM

Its about time Tai :P

Damn I was near your house today evening; could have come for a swim and 150 pounds of live rock weight test

Coleus 11-20-2012 05:46 AM

Update: , got the sump in place. I put it right on the floor an fill up with water for leak test

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-5...108/2012-11-19

There is no leak but I noticed there are white line underneath the tank (not line from concrete)
https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-1...831/2012-11-19

So should i place the sump on ply wood and level it? All level are within the middle lines of level right now. Also anyone know what those lines are? i put my hand in tank to see if these are cracks and they are not. They Looks similar to mark when you bend a piece of acrylic

Mike-fish 11-20-2012 07:00 AM

I would put the sump on foam at least rather than strait on the concrete. Not sure what the lines might be other than maybe there's a small dip in the floor and your seeing the oddly reflected light. It could also just be light reflected off the edges of the glass in the strange patterns you can see in the pic.

sphelps 11-20-2012 02:14 PM

Agreed put the sump on some rigid foam, doesn't have to be perfectly level but needs to be evenly supported as the concrete won't be flat, it never is.

Delphinus 11-20-2012 03:27 PM

Might be scratches on the glass for being shifted into place on the floor.. Hard to say.

Definitely get some pink insulation board under there ..
