What to do with coral substrate

I was sitting here thinking what to do with all my coral substrate after I switch it with sand.

Has any one ever tryed bagging it up in mesh bags and use it like base rock under LR? I just thought maybe it could be tightly bound up in fine mesh sacks and piled up and then put my LR on top so you can't see the sacking. It would give all my pods and critters places to breed.

Could you maybe make some molds mix a bit of resin with it and have some realy poreous rock formations?

Any thought would be cool.

Thanks in advance

how big is it?

Tyler, awesome idea. Put it in mesh onion bags and bury it under your rock. Grat pod piles

Say 1 pound sacks, soft ball size.

It's the course crushed coral substrate that you buy at a LFS

Here's a pic that you can see the size of the sustrate that I want to bag up.

If you have a tonne of it, it will break your tank!! hehe

Not sure how much in weight, it sits 2" to 3" in my tank. The base of my tank is 48" by 24" maybe 80lbs or so?
