I got a fevah!

LOL I've been in this hobby almost 12 years now and still, I want. I see, I know I shouldn't have, I know I don't have room, but I still want...badly. I try to resist. I think about it all day, the wanting that is. Sometimes it goes on for days as I try to resist. Sometimes I am successful with the resisting. Sometimes I don't even think about resisting, I just give in right away to the want. This sometimes poses a problem as I have three full frag racks I haven't been able to get out of my tank for 2 years because of the want. They are full of saleable frags for the next swap and at least 5 that are waiting to be mounted, but I don't have much room. Two of the frag racks have permanent members on them because the corals have actually grown over the frag racks and I don't have the heart to remove them and they're doing so well! (I've already placed frags of them on the rock in the tank).

I think I have a problem, but then I think I'm in good company here

Aquattro 04-04-2012 03:13 PM

That wall DOES have room for a bigger tank.....just sayin...

muck 04-04-2012 03:18 PM

lol Christy. I found a temporary cure for this fevah. It involved getting rid of my tank. Now I see and want but got nowhere to put it so...

Of course once I do setup another tank I gots a lot of fevah to make up for. :twised:

marie 04-04-2012 03:19 PM

You could do what I did and clean out the tank and start again

+1. Not that I've seen you house or tank, but it sounds like you need to upgrade!!

Marie might be onto something too though. If you clear out the tank, let me know!! I'll come there to... uh... help! ;-)

I took a two year hiatus and thought I was cured then one day walked into my favorite lfs and boom sick as can be!! My 90 is turning into a 225 and I basically live on Canreef and fish stores. Who needs food I need radions and frags!!

I know! I plan to replace the tank I have currently as its ridiculously scratched. I was thinking of adding a foot on but making it 30" instead of the current 24" "depth" (not height). I may have to win the lottery or use the kids college fund for that though

LOL, well I have been removing various corals to make way for other corals but I find they don't do as well with a large colony hovering over a little frag. Its tempting to clear things out and start again but I've done it too many times and frankly its mentally exhausting to even think about it. I'd like to have a mature looking tank for awhile yet

lockrookie 04-04-2012 07:25 PM

drink some nog i hear its the reef equivelent to bucklys tastes like crap but fixes the fever

Chowder 04-04-2012 09:34 PM

You know Christy if you have power heads in your tank . You could mount SPS to them. When they grow in they hide the power head quite well. Just makes them hard to clean. Or you could just build bigger frag racks.

Actually my wavebox power cord has a fairly sizeable colony of pink pocillipora growing on it currently, I should post a photo

reefermadness 04-05-2012 12:01 AM

Good company indeed. Sometimes I trick myself into believing I can fit one of everything in my tank. I'm still acquiring corals with no room to put them......so they sit in the frag tank....oh well at least I still own them :) Come here my precious!!

christyf5 04-05-2012 12:41 AM

LOL, Borderjumper actually had a gorgeous deep blue acro that we called "the precious". Sadly I lost the piece I got from her and I think hers went south as well  That doesn't stop me from calling all deep blue acros "the preciouseses" though

Proteus 04-05-2012 12:42 AM

I have been sick for the last year. My fever flares up on Thursday's calms on Monday's. But still end up with tremors and cold sweats lol

I am finding as I buy stuff I go home and find stuff to sell to make room

Hey there's a Monty cap on that mag float. They were very handy back then. Believe it was brown with blue polyps.

Chris

Chowder 04-05-2012 04:11 AM
