29G LED Upgrade with Ecoxotic Panorama Pros
Great little overview of the Panorama Pro LED modules and what they are capable of:
http://www.nano-reef.com/forums/inde...st=40&start=40 So got my Ecoxotic Panorama Pro Modules in the mail yesterday and Couldn't wait to get home to install them. After a good 45 min (Took my time to do a clean job) I was done WOW is all i gotta say. Tank look so much nicer, still gotta get use to the shimmer, getting maybe a little too much shimmer but I will play with that later. Also thinking I need some more Muhahahhah Might end up picking up another pro and a stunner strip to complete my setup. Ok here are some pics showing what I did, enjoy: Before: http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1228.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1230.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1231.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1232.jpg Step 1: Gut out all un necessary wires, I decided to keep the one transformer from the stock hood to run the fan. http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1233.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1234.jpg Step 2: Place LED modules in desired place and mark holes http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1235.jpg Step 3: Drill holes for the Module http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1237.jpg Step 4: Using washers I made a spacer for the mounts so that air can circulate underneath the module. http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1238.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1239.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1241.jpg Step 5: Mount remaining Modules http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1242.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1243.jpg Step 6: Running the wires through existing holes of original transformer line http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1245.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1247.jpg http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1248.jpg Step 7: Place protective lens back onto hood. http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1249.jpg and Enjoy http://i1109.photobucket.com/albums/...l/IMG_1251.jpg Although as all of you know the picture does not do it justice, and all my corals where sleeping when I put the lights back on since they where in the dark for awhile. |
Is it the same color in person as your pic? Seems like the original pic was quite whitish and the new is very blue. Hard to compare.
Don't mean to be critical, just curious. |
I do have to say nice job! Very clean.
|
Oh, of course, sorry forgot to say ...
'Scape looks great ! Good job. Hope mine looks that nice in a year. |
Probably just the picture but I think it looked better before
|
i dont think this is martins tank... had to search high and low to figure out what the color combo was, as this appears to blue for my liking.

I'm still not able to take pictures with LED's over a tank :(. I wouldn't be suprised if in person this is MUCH better.
By the way, this is by far the cleanest install I've seen for this style of hood good job!!! |
okay this is going to make me sound like a noob
(yeah I'll admit it) but your lighting kit is EXACTLY what I want for my biocube could I get a detailed list of what was purchased? I've decided LEDs are the way to go after I saw the prices of bulbs lol. |
2 x http://www.modularled.ca/panorama-pro-led-module/
2 x http://www.modularled.ca/ecoxotic-power-supply/ (60watt) In this setup the color choice was one Blue and one 12K White & Blue Panorama Pro. |
Perfect I'll start saving my pennies :)
is there somewhere where you can see photos of the different combos? I'm thinking I want blue like yours because my tank is quite red. but I like the idea of purple/magenta lighting. |
just installed this today, thanks martin for getting this to me quickly and putting up with me . And the dairy milk was awsome :)
took me slightly alot longer then 45 mins to install because i had to go get a fan as one of mine was found dead. instead of spacers i used the rubber bushings included as spacers except i lost one bag so i jimmyed the power compact holders to hold the second one.. 2 x 50/50 1 stunner blue/magenta http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...c4l/photo1.jpg the original http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...c4l/photo3.jpg after http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...c4l/photo2.jpg added nice shimmer, cooler temps and helped the color pop quite a bit more on my corals, slightly bluer... I wouldnt say im any farther ahead with amount of light however. would probably need one more pro for that. amount of light was not my goal, overall very happy with the product, very well put to gether. |
Glad you are happy with the out come of your tank, looks great. I am impressed with all the feed back with these Panorama Pro modules! They are really something. So bright and a great replacement for nano tanks. Keep up the good work.

My bank account is gonna take a hit pretty soon here (again dang fishes) I like the magenta. I see that you are located in Red Deer. Is there an actual store front I can visit? |
