Dog sniffs out leak
Last night I was watching tv in the same room as my tank everything looked normal, except I remember thinking the top off container seems more empty than normal. I figured its the nice temperatures we've had lately and the windows were open for parts of the weekend to get the winter air out. Must be extra evaporation. My dog (Perry) comes downstairs and sits beside me then seems agitated and walks over to the tank and starts watching it, he never does this but he's a puppy so maybe he finally noticed the fish. Then he starts barking at my calcium reactor, I tell him to stop obviously to lazy to get off my butt. He stops for a minute then starts again I think he's barking because when the co2 runs it makes noise. So again I tell him to stop and call him over he wont do either just keeps barking. Now I'm getting angry as I need to get off my lazy butt and get him. As Im getting closer .....squish one wet sock.
As it turns out the check valve to my reactor was dripping and the carpet was wet. Needless to say Perry got a nice big treat last night! |
Very cool, man's best friend watching out for you!

Awww that is so cute! What a good boy!
Wish mine was that smart. She's jealous of the tank because it gets more of my attention when I get home from work. If it sprung a leak she'd probably be thrilled! Did you post a pic of Perry? What kind of puppy is he? |
That is very cool

Now if your fish would give you a warning before the puppy craps on the rug you would really have something.....
