Frag Swap Victoria - April

To confirm, meet is tomorrow, April 14 2PM

Parking is limited, so if you can walk, walk. Kidding. About the walking, not parking :)

Werbo 03-12-2012 02:18 PM

April 21 is better for me.

christyf5 03-12-2012 05:56 PM

7th works better for me. I'm in Vancouver weekend of the 20-22.

Well that settles it then, doesn't it?? :)

Aquattro 03-12-2012 06:00 PM

Although, just realized I typed wrong. Meant 14th or 21st. I'm busy on the 7th as well.

FragIt Dan 03-12-2012 06:26 PM

I will likely make it for the 14th, but less likely for the 21st.

lngrhaul 03-12-2012 06:42 PM

7th is Easter so that was probably a good change.

14th is best for me but the frag whore that I am, would probably adjust plans....just sayin!

Aquattro 03-12-2012 06:52 PM

Ya, I'm hosting a flyball tourny Easter weekend, so that was a bad date. We don't want to miss out on Christy, so let's aim for the 14th. :)

Borderjumper 03-12-2012 06:55 PM

let me check my social calendar.... Umm I can make it

christyf5 03-12-2012 07:30 PM

Yay for me! *ahem* I mean frag swap!!

Cade 03-14-2012 03:21 AM

My wife and I will be there. We were at Shelley's and made off with some very nice SPS frags which by the way are doing very well. (Thank you Christy and Ronnie) and off course thank you Shelly for hosting.

This time I would like to bring some Zoa frags and I just happen to have a bunch ready. I would really like to trade for more SPS to add to my small but growing collection.:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen: I also have a 2" piece of GSP growing on a 4" rock if anyone is interested or some of that Hollywood Stunner Chalice that you can see at the bottom left of this picture.

Interested anyone?

There will be lots of SPS there I'm sure, almost everything in my tank will be available in differing quantities.

We'll try to avoid the mob mentality this time  I'm sure there will be lots for everyone.

My gosh.. The mosh pit was something eh:mrgreen:

Cade 03-14-2012 02:56 PM

Yah it was funny, I just stayed out of the way. This time I'm going to bring some stuff to because the mob consisted mainly of people with cash. Ronnie was fighting them off saying she would prefer to trade...

christyf5 03-14-2012 04:21 PM

I'd be interested in trading Cade. I'd love some zoos for my nano. I like those orangey ones out front to the right in the first pic and the greeny ones to the left of them. I'll try to get my act together and post some pics of the SPS I will be bringing so maybe we can do some "presales" so it won't be quite the pandemonium and nobody gets left out? I might have to make another frag rack in the tank

Sounds good, I would love to get a look at your tank as well.:biggrin:

Borderjumper 03-14-2012 11:35 PM

Hey Brad, what time are you planning on having us over?

Christy.. Can you make me up some more of those orange mushrooms? I need some for my nano.

I've made up a bunch of Sunset Monties and those orange and green cyphestrias everyone wanted, oh, and some of the green on green ones and purple on green too. I've made up a bunch of ricordea, mostly different neon greens with purple.

Anyone have any requests? There's still some time to cut acans and stuff.

Got some orange mushrooms ready to go, I have about 50 of them in the tank, they're getting a little out of control.

Aquattro 03-15-2012 02:53 AM

Shelley, I think 2ish will work best, my lights come on at 1:30.

Rice Reef 03-15-2012 02:01 PM

Darn, looks like I will be missing this one. Might be able to swing by for a quicky but that is about it. Having the opportunity to see Brad's tank is certainly a treat as he's got a Reef Picasso in his tank.:wink:

christyf5 03-16-2012 04:43 PM

OK so I'm gonna try to go for some presales here. I don't want to cut a bunch of stuff and then end up bringing it home (although last time was pandemonium). Plus I hate clipping my babies if I don't have to

Reefer Rob 03-17-2012 02:33 AM

You Islanders have all the fun!

Christy, where did you get your Cali tort from. The structure almost looks more like an Oregon. I don't want to start a riot but.... no wait, maybe I do :surprise:

christyf5 03-17-2012 02:38 AM

I can't remember who I got it from, I'm thinking Snappy. I was under the impression that the oregon tort was a more vibrant blue, like this:

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...2/IMG_0480.jpg

And the cali tort was more muted. But I dunno. Both of them came with "labels" so I just assumed thats what they were.

Hmm, you know, I have another one that could be the cali tort. The one I have labelled the cali tort could be the Purple Cross. I'll go get a pic of what i thought was the purple cross.

Reefer Rob 03-17-2012 02:45 AM

The Oregon Tort is all blue with no green. Hard to tell from a picture, in person there is no comparison. The structure is heavier and smoother than the Cali, I almost thought it looked more like a Turaki.

christyf5 03-17-2012 02:48 AM

I can see now that I've mis-labelled them. Sorry guys, I'll get a mod to edit that

This is the "cali tort" (or what was sold to me as a cali tort) and its not for sale.

What was sold to me as the oregon is about that, but I dunno. It is one of the most vibrant solid blue corals I've ever seen. And grows kind of odd, its mostly smooth on the top and the corallites are spaced out on the underside. A very slow grower for me as well.

Send me piece to inspect, and I'll let you know what I think

Yes, it's called "purple acro with the pinky looking polyps".

I'm of the school that thinks naming corals is silly :)
