Skimmer King's RSM 250 BUILD.

Well what to say the reno's have caused me to sell off pretty much all the big ticket Items. Like the 240 Gal tank, The Stand, the Skimmer, the bigger tangs. However I will be putting all the smaller fish into the RSM tank and hand picking the best rock that i have for this tank. See there is always a Positive side. So let's start shall we.

RSM 250 hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Wait a minute Mike you don't build anything its all pre fabbed. Oh contrary to belief my dear Watson.

Wow ... you are so lucky to have a super kind person like the Grizz to help you. My heart would have dropped on the floor if I saw my new stand get ripped apart like that without me there ... But your stand is in good hands, Mike !

Coralgurl 03-11-2012 12:43 AM

One helluva guy for sure! Looks like a great set up!

Nice! Greg was telling me about this yesterday, looks awesome lots of room for a nice sized sump now!

Skimmerking 03-13-2012 04:15 AM

Yep going to be having my kalk reactor and Swc 160 cone that I got from Greg

patd 03-17-2012 04:00 AM

Well, Greg is a good friend indeed to go to all that trouble for you and I'm sure you will enjoy your new RSM.
I'm not quite sure I understand the purpose of that metal tubing though? Seems like a hell of a lot of good work for something competely unnecessary...unless I am missing something?
Not that I would be complaining if I were in your shoes.

by putting that support bar in the shelving is removed to give him more room for equiptment under the tank like skimmers/ reactors keppingthe setup neat and tidy

Skimmerking 03-17-2012 04:25 AM

Yes Jeff you are correct see the RSM is a self contained unit and I'm drilling it to run a sump and a real skimmer in there. The 30th I will have the tank. I can't wait either I received my new t-5s today too

patd 03-17-2012 04:42 AM

Aha...my apologies - I missed the entire goal . I have an RSM 250 as well (nearly stock) and agree that having a sump would be a great improvement.
So when can I ship you my stand Greg?
Looking forward to the progress of this build.

Casey8 03-22-2012 02:11 AM

That skimmer ... uh ...was it suppose to belong to you before, Master ? Was it after going in a big circle, now it went back to the original owner ?

SmallFry 03-22-2012 04:05 AM

Three pages and still no photo of him biting something..? We need to see the infamous taste test...

The Grizz 03-22-2012 04:43 AM

The only thing Mike actually has on had to nibble on are the bulbs & ATM he's out in the his tree house playing army with all the other little boys:twised:

spawn 03-31-2012 05:56 PM

Hey Mike I just saw this & it looks sweet. One thing you'll wanna still do is to do your water changes out of the original sump area as it is a very affective settling area for alot of nasty ****.

Skimmerking 04-07-2012 08:28 PM

had the return lines going into this chamber, only for a bit that is where one of the powerheads that circulate the water but its causing mirco bubbles so I had to try something else.

Looks great. Maybe try running the lines into the original skimmer chamber so that the water has to go through the small weirs. Also if those origninal pumps fail you can use a MJ ??size for the right side. Cant remeber the size but it runs cooler & its like the same flow.
