Classified seller location

It would sure be helpful if peeps would put their location somewhere in their title

The Grizz 03-10-2012 03:12 AM

+1 I will be doing that from now on.

subman 03-10-2012 03:31 AM

I allways do, when on the web page propper you can see user locations, when accurate, but when on a small portable web device running tapatalk, you have to do a few clicks in to look at their profile when you could just skip the thread entirely.

I like that, if we all had a [GVRD] or [EDM] in the title it would be much easier. I've been very excited looking at coral pieces just to find out all you Alberta people get the good stuff :P

I've done the exact same thing only to find out BC is hoarding all the good stuff!

MarkoD 03-10-2012 01:13 PM

I've been doing that since day one. How about making it mandatory for a picture. I honestly don't understand how some people expect to sell something's without a picture. (like asking a grand for a system, and no picture)

Aquattro 03-10-2012 03:02 PM

I think it's common sense for a seller to add as much info as possible, and pics, if they expect to sell anything. That applies here or anywhere people post things for sale.
Honestly, we have enough rules to watch for, and people have even emailed abusive comments when I try to enforce the ones we have.
The time it takes to read a thread to find out sellers location is miniscule. If it takes 2 more taps on a phone.....well, I dunno what to say to that....:)

A location is required in either the title, post, or poster's profile.

Very first thing in the guidelines!

Putting it in the title definitely makes it easier for buyers to sort through multiple for sale posts.

blacknife 03-10-2012 03:16 PM

Not complaining I do it all rhe time heh

And why is it so hard for people to post pic's of there items they are selling? i have lost track of how many pic's I have posted for other people to help them sell there stuff.

You're just way too nice.

gregzz4 03-14-2012 11:28 AM

Why can't members be trained to put their location in their title?
It's not so much to ask for.
Skimming through classifieds would be so much easier.
I vote it should be a rule.

paddyob 03-24-2012 09:07 PM

This used to be required on CR.

Was even a sticky I think.

Madmak 03-25-2012 12:03 AM

It's different on a PC where you can see the poster's location but on mobile devices or through Tapatalk it will only show up if it is in the thread title. You can pull up the poster's profile but its a PIA.

I vote it be mandatory in the title along with FF, FS, FT, and LF.

Maybe:

FS-Calgary-dirty sump, has crabs and cheats, no lights $40 OBO

See, it works!

Since it says Calgary it is easier for the buyer to determine that this is likely not a good find. Now if it said Edmonton, however, it just might be worth having a look?!?

JK ;)
