RBTA @ Big Al's

Hey Guys ... I had a RBTA on order at Big Al's forever

Now that I bought mine guess what ? ... yep you guessed it ... they got one in

A little pricey at $279 but I have not seen it so maybe it is a decent size for that price

I have to call them back to let them know if I am interested but I thought I would post it on here first before I call.

Cheers

Hi there, I would not spend that much money for one at big als, when you can get one at j@l for 129 bucks. I had mine arrive yesterday and I tell you it a great looking anemone. Only my 2 cents.

Buccaneer 03-04-2004 01:40 AM

I did see J&L advertize the rbta for 129 ... so what was it after shipping and taxes ?

Quinn 03-04-2004 05:17 AM

Whatever the market will bear, I suppose.

EmilyB 03-04-2004 05:35 AM

It's too bad it will die there at that price. I've never seen anything able to carry on for the longterm there.

I was there tonight getting some ph buffer and it had already sold! I didn't even get to window shop  Super expensive no doubt but it was near 6" I hear, so at least it was a decent size.

Evan.

$279

I feel sorry for that guy, :frown:

We have 9 available at $169.

If you can't bribe Quinn to bring it down for you,
I know Wai's will have 3? sometime in the next week as well.

Price Drop

James,
Why the price drop? (30 Bucks)
It seemed you had no problem selling the last 15 or so at 200. Are you starting to see a slow down of RBTA's? Or is it more size related?

Cheers,

Al

 Actually a $50 price drop! , I got a better price from the supplier. Volume purchases help as well. I believe that rose anemones will always be more expensive than regular Bubble tips however, the price will come down a bit over time.

I will say that with the crazy numbers of them being collected now, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually start to rise in price again as they are harder to collect. This may not happen for a year or two, who knows. By then somebody will be farming them I'm sure.

Wais had a dozen, now has two remaining, I picked one up today it's kinda small. Seems happy in my tank so far.

Had to jump on the pink BTA band wagon!

Mine has " walked " all over the tank since I got him a few weeks ago ... found him " underneath " the Green BTA the other night and thought he was a goner for sure but you apparently get your money's worth as he is now behind a millipora and looking fine no worse for wear
