grade*** 4"+ clams with lots of photos.trades are welcomed
This is a bigger turnout than I expected,to be honest I originally wanted a couple only for myself.
As I found a good distributor with ample supply of Clams but unfortunately as I started doing upgrading on my tanks and not be able to handle so may clams to fill everyone's order,so a hard decision had to be made read below Ok I will explain it in details as I read all my posts and they are a bit of mess:biggrin: All this information will be up on the thread starter to simply make easy for everyone. As soon as I get the shipment in it will go in a holding tank for a last look and for a drip acclimation,24 hours later goes into the frag tank that is hooked up to my main tank. I will take individual photos of the available clams and adjust pricing according to what I paid for it. WYSWYG every clam will have a number and you need to pm me or email me at caco3reef@gmail.com for pricing (1st pay 1st served,EMT OR CASH) in-town or not.(I am in the process of setting up a flight account so bare with me...) For shipping it is best to do a group buy as that will reduce price of flight (delivered to one address only. I will give ample time for everyone to get on the thread, meaning I will post the moment I receive the clams then a day later I will post all types of photos then 3rd day will be setup as WYSWYG and that will go for 24 to 48 Hrs depending on availability. If I had dealt with you in the past and would like to pay cash I will hold your clam. I will run this type of special for a few days then I will have one day open house for the remainder. At the end what is left will be to get hold of me and come by for viewing or purchase. This list will keep updating so again bare with me. Trades are welcomed 1http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1924.jpg 2 (Sold) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1925.jpg 3 http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1926.jpg 4 http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1927.jpg 5(SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1928.jpg 6(SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1929.jpg 7(SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1930.jpg 8 http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1931.jpg 9(SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1932.jpg 10 (SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1933.jpg 11 http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1934.jpg 12(SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1935.jpg 13(SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1936.jpg 14 (SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1937.jpg 15(SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1938.jpg 16(SOLD) http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1939.jpg 17 http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1940.jpg 18 http://i726.photobucket.com/albums/w...f/IMG_1941.jpg |

Thought I would add a little information (not my writeup)while awaiting the clam order:biggrin:
Common Name: Crocea Scientific Name: Tridacna Crocea Max size: 6 Inches Tank size: Recommended in tanks >50 gallons Food: Photosynthetic but benefits from zoo & phyto plankton Reef safe: Yes Lighting Req: High. Placement: On rocks Notes: Should be placed middle to high up in the rock work depending on the color intensity of the mantle. Blue requires more light than green or brown. Prefers moderate flow and will attach firmly to rock. Easy to care for and moderately hardy but does require more light than bottom dwellers. Possible to keep under PC lighting but strongly not recommended. Purchase clams over 3" in size as smaller has a high mortality rate. Will reach maximum size in 5-7 years. |
And here is some more:biggrin:
Common Name: Maxima Scientific Name: Tridacna Maxima Max size: 6 Inches Tank size: Recommended in tanks >50 gallons Food: Photosynthetic but benefits from zoo & phyto plankton Reef safe: Yes Lighting Req: High. T5 or above Placement: On rocks Notes: Should be placed middle to high up in the rock work depending on color intensity of mantle. Blue requires more light than green or brown. Largest color spectrum of all clams. Needs supplemental feeding for proper growth. Prefers moderate flow and will attach firmly to rock. Can be difficult to keep and is less hardy than other clam species. Tank size above 50 gallons is recommended due to potential size. Will reach maximum size in 5-7 years. Purchase clams over 3" in size as smaller has a high mortality rate. |

How many clams have arrived? Are there any green or purple pokadot ones?

Will you be getting any clams that will do well under 6 T5 HO ATI's

Clams are like some corals rely on symbiotic zooxanthellae for nutrient generation and thus are considered photosynthetic feeders. All clams should be placed in tanks that are at least 6mths old. As for lighting specs, the higher the light level the better for the clam. The lowest light in my opinion would be the T5 as the clam need to be placed closer to the tank top but not to close as sometimes clams tend to exert and squirt water (simply be cautious of how high you place your clam. Hope that answers your question and a bit more. |
Here are some photos not the best but you get the picture:biggrin::biggrin:

So call me stupid but I just don't get how this is working. Your previous posts seem to suggest clams will not be sold until Saturday when the WYSIWYG is setup, yet some obviously sold yesterday and I don't even see all the individual pics yet or prices...
