I’m selling only the Glass Aquarium, Stand, Sump, and the plumbing fittings all of which are less than year old. (Lighting or anything else is not for sale)

I’m downsizing to a slightly smaller rimless tank to fit the overall design of the house better.

300 Gallon Tank
  • Custom Built by Miracles Aquariums (search RC for their reputation if you aren’t familiar with them)
  • 96” wide x 24” deep x 30” Tall
  • 3/4” Thick Glass
  • Euro-braced Top
  • Clean looking Machined Polished Edges
  • Ultra clear Starphire Glass on the front, side panels, and euro bracing
  • Black Silicone
  • 24” x 8” x 30” overflow for maximization of surface skimming
  • Overflow is black acrylic, with internal glass for strength
  • Overflow drilled with 3 x 1.5” drain holes, and 2 x 1” returns
  • Bottom is tempered for strength (post drilling)
  • “Herbie” styled silent drain plumbing with gray PVC Schedule 80 pipes and Spears valves
  • Nearly perfect condition, with no visible scratches that I’ve noticed
Custom Built Stand
  • Custom built by Oceanic Corals in Aldergrove, BC
  • Solid Wood, 3 doors
  • Modern look
  • Black Furniture finished
  • Needs some minor work if you are perfectionist (I am): a portion of the finish on the front is slightly “cloudy” due to a mistake by the finishing painter. There is small crack on the cosmetic front lip (1/4” wood used to hide the first inch of sand in the aquarium) Some of the doors didn’t close well as the seasons change, so I had a finishing carpenter shave off a few mm (not noticeable).

Rimless Sump
  • 45 gallons
  • Drilled with a 1.5” hole on the side
  • Solid but flawed, one of the pieces of glass is 1/8” longer than the others (but I keep it hidden at the back)

Here’s what I paid and I’ve got the invoices for you to look at:
Tank - $4300 delivered to Kelowna + HST.
Stand - $3100 + HST + delivery to Kelowna.
45 Gallon Rimless Sump - $150

Everything is less than a year old, and I am looking to recoup $2500 OBO.

You are going to need at least 6-7 people help you move this, and the rental of suction cups from Wynn rentals.

Nope! Just sent you a PM. My box was 90% full, so I don't know if there was some reason why I didn't get it.

(Got your PM, just sent you a reply with my contact info --- I believe we have made back & forth PM contact)

The Tank was too big for fisher's basement unfortunately.

Price drop to $2000, my wife will not tolerate two large tanks in the house even if one is in the garage.

ashr 02-10-2012 04:11 AM

I was telling Bkelly the other day if I had the space I would have all ready bought this haha

ashr 02-10-2012 04:11 AM

I'm assuming the new owner of the tank will modify the plumbing + sump for their particular needs -- but here is some info on the current plumbing:

It's set to work with a submersible pump (Red Dragon 6.5) and has a barb adapter. This section could be replaced entirely with new 1" pipe and be adapted to an external pump if needed.

Also the interior of the doors have some residue from a adhesive that I used to attach acoustic foam. It might come off with a chemical or some sanding.

Front panel scratches: There are indeed some smaller interior scratches where the sand was on the front panel. I never actually noticed this until water was out of the tank and I was on the floor looking up. It wouldn't be noticed when the tank is setup.

Mrfish55 02-11-2012 08:34 PM

Ooooooooooo road trip!

Lance 02-11-2012 09:30 PM

Yes! A new home for Doofus.

SeaHorse_Fanatic 02-11-2012 11:25 PM

So who's up for a road trip??? Haven't been to Kelowna in years. Or are you hiring a moving crew???

This is such a beautiful tank, I'm sure you'll love it in that spot you had built for an 8' display. Sooooo jealous. Irene wasn't going for the "I need to upgrade" argument any more:sad:
