2012 the year of the 180
 

i find small humour in the fact when i ws building the 50g peninsula tank it seemed to be the year of peninsulas everyone was building one. this year it seems alot are building 180's or is it just me lol

I'll be setting up a 180 in the spring.

No you all wrong its the year of 2012 in my calculations it stands for
2 X12 (..0..) = 24 (..0..) = 240 glns Witch I will be setting up this year :biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:

Picked up my new 180 from Concept yesterday>

we are a little more than half as wacko as a guy buildinga 300..lol

we may have to start the 2012 180 club thread andpostpictures of progress throughout the year see how ppl are doing hopefully i can get started replacing glass in feb and drilling some holes.

lol no worries im overwhelmed too. you will do fine just take your time. keep watching the sales on here for stuff you can use and yes it would be great if ppl pould post progress here as well as thier build threads or link thier threads here. its going to be an interesting year.

Can somebody measure there 180 and tell me the bottom trim measurements. I have a 180 coming and want to start my stand. It's 72 x 24 but I don't know if these are inside measurements or outside. Thanks

Sorry, rough night. My kid's 2nd birthday and he gets to spend it at the hospital overnight for two nights in a row now. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

Anyway I think that's a great idea about the 180 thread. It's nice to see what everyone's got going on.

Mines officially on hold for a bit as I am waiting til I get back from holidays to start it up and also waiting for my Reef Flakes substrate to be delivered.

Sometime in March, Glass will will here in the next couple of weeks, Grizz is making the stand, Neil is assembling the tank, my bulk reek plumbling supplies will be here next week, I have the 75 gallon tank for the sump, I have the baffles cut, so I just waiting to glue them in and filled the tank for leaks.

you make me so jealous it came together so fast for you . looks great tho.. i was hopeing to getmy tank inhouse to tearapart and have it ready for the new glass but it didnt work out as planned.. lets hope this week

The wait will be worth it!! I know with all these builds I'm going to see something come up and go "doh". I have to make some changes and still add some equipment, finish the room it's in but happy to have it running. I wish I could get a decent picture, it looks much better in person, hard to see the caves, no depth to the pics.

i make no promises i have ground glass before but never havei drilled so thisis new to me once holes are drilled it will be clear sailing.
ive acumilated a few parts and pieces. prolly making a trip to home depot this week as well.

just figured id update the list of ppl thus far in the 2012 180 club for all those interested and those ppl who are building tank feel free to post updates any time...i will have one shortly. even if it is just a pile of glass lets see some pics :)
