Lonely Lady Seeks 200g Salt Pail for Water Changes
Okay, not really that lonely, but am looking for an old 200g Kent (or other brand) of salt pail for actual water changes. The 160g pails are just too small - size counts, afterall ;) Hopefully, you have a pail with lid that's still pretty clean and needs a new home in North Edmonton.
TIA for your reply :) |
Really? No one has an old 200g pail to go to a good home for water changes? Does anyone even remember the 200g pails? Am I THAT old !?!
I just picked up one (Kent 200g), but its a long drive for you to pick up in Burnaby:wink: Free if you come by though:razz:
Thanks for your very kind offer :) I was hoping someone might be a bit closer to north Edmonton, though
you know Rona has larger pails than the std salt buckets
The Rona pails are equivalent to 160g salt pails, unfortunately.
I have a bunch of pails at home, might have one bigger one, I'll try to remember to check.
Perhaps ask for Aquavitro pails.... They are 220g
Beverly... I dug around int he back... I have one for ya!

Oh, Steve, thanks so much! I'll be stopping by soon. What time do you get in in the afternoons?
Good to hear Steve has one. I looked but mine are all 160.
5 at the latest but tomorrow we have a couple huge orders in the morning so I may end up being there all day long....

Do you mean 200 gallon pails? or the pails that do 200 gallons of reef crystals? I'm confused!
Tha 200g pails hold enough salt to make up 200g of saltwater, supposedly. Many of the new salt pails only make 160g or less of saltwater. It's written on the pail, if I'm not mistaken.
So that empty 200 gallon pail, holds approx what 7-8 gallons of water?
The Rona pails are advertised as 5g which is the same size as a 160g. A 200g pail has 25% more than a 5g which should be 6.25g for the 200g pail. This will mean about a 25% water change with a full pail, though I don't think I can lift a 200g pail full of water very far. At 8.3 lbs./g, that's ~51 lbs for 6.25g  Still want the pail, though :)

there is a plastic place on 118 ave and 149 st i believe, cant remember the name but they make all sorts of plastic containers. I got an 8 gallon bucket there with for around 20 bucks
