Ok, so you're selling frags of the colonies pictured. Gotcha. Some nice looking pieces. :)

shrimpchips 09-29-2011 05:20 PM

Greg, are these grown out and encrusted, or just cuts off the imported pieces?

Snappy 09-29-2011 11:11 PM

There are some of both, it depends on the coral. Any of the newer corals were bought in with my own collection in mind.
I am not a "chop shop" if that is what you are asking.

shrimpchips 09-30-2011 12:12 AM

Didn't think so Greg :)

Has the abro grown for you?

Yes I generally have pretty good luck with them.

Snappy 09-30-2011 03:31 AM

PM's are all answered

Rice Reef 09-30-2011 04:18 AM

Greg,
Are these corals from Columbia? You sure know how to lure the addicts out... Just kiddn' really nice corals and I'm tempted in putting another large order.
How much more do I have to spend before I get the VIP service from you?

Just got home with 12 incredible frags from Greg. His frag tank is one impressive display of colour lemme tell ya! Thanks again =)

He also lent me a pile of frag racks so I actually had room for them until the big tank is online

What is the difference between the two Bonsai Validas? and What is "CM" on the Mille?

Thanks

I am so jealous! Can you tell me that the Yellow Mille is a true yellow? Snappy's pic of the Yellow Mille looks a bit off (on the green side).

Thanks

lastlight 09-30-2011 05:21 AM

It's def yellow. The pic doesn't do it justice =)

As for the validas they are just 2 different colonies of the same type.

Brett,

Thanks! That really helps my decision as I have been wanting a Yellow Mille for a while. Did you pick one up and the same with the Bonsai? Just love the yellow freckles on blue!

lastlight 09-30-2011 05:32 AM

yes to both! now I just need to hold onto the colors lol.

LOL. I'm sure they will be fine.

reefermadness 09-30-2011 01:27 PM

I've never seen a yellow millepora in someone's tank long term....only on new shipments. What I have seen and experienced is that they are just slightly bleached green millepora and will become more green with some extended time in the aquarium.

 Sorry but I disagree as it depends mainly on one's system, I have kept them yellow and have friends acheive the same result. If you look in the link below (sorry you'll have to go through lot's of pictures) you will see a bright yellow mille I used to have and although it had some green hues, over all it was mostly yellow.

I don't think I would personally call either millepora true yellow. Your old millepora was getting close near the middle up but still a shade of green to me. Plus if the polyps were out in that pic I'm certain it would only look more green. I believe this is what you called your highlighter millepora. Looking at the picture on your website I see even more green (probably more polyps as well) and you list it as green/yellow. True yellow is very hard to find IMO, but everyone sees colour a little differently. Those are both nice millepora though either way.....and I'm not saying they are the run of the mill green.

I will add though that millepora especially have a tendency to darken up after being in an aquarium for some time. Fact is sometimes it seems like yellow millepora get shipped in but in all the cases I have seen to date they darken up and become more green over time in the aquarium because they were just a little bleached from shipping.

This is my experience anyway....and I have been proven wrong before.

Snappy 10-01-2011 12:27 AM

Yellow is very dependent on Po4, nitrate and to some extent iron. As most people find it difficult to keep Po4 and nitrate at true undetectable levels, while keeping iron just right, true yellow are hard to maintain. Corals will fluctuate from green-yellow depending on how consistent you keep these parameters.

PM sent

Snappy 10-01-2011 03:58 AM

Why is it the last 3 times I have posted stuff for sale Canreef sends out a message saying they are shutting down that weekend? :twised: You guys need to start doing your maintanence in the wee hours like everybody else does so it has less of an impact!

If people need to talk to me tomorrow (Oct 1) please call 403-278-5751 since Canreef will be shut down for most of the afternoon.

Aquattro 10-02-2011 02:47 PM

Well Greg, if I'd ordered the last three times, you could suspect an evil plot to keep all the goodies, but alas, it's just poor luck. Next time, send Titus a PM and tell him not to mess with your sale! Hell, I just like looking at the pics, some awesome stuff you got there!

Snappy 10-02-2011 11:16 PM
