New Colors!
Our new colors of LEDs went up on the website today. So many more options now to customize your light fixture exactly how you want it. Our color range now is:
We are most excited about the High Efficiency range which is touted as XP-Gs replacement running at even lower power consumption and producing the brightest of LED. |
Nice!

Sound sweet dude :thumb:

are you looking at getting in true Violet LEDs?
Steve |
super cool!!
|
any chance youlle be getting colour combo boards, you could call em 50/50 boards!
it could alleviate any colour blending issues? and for reds and greens could you get single led boards just so you can keep accents to a minimum? |
True violet LEDs would be great.. I second that

Any chance of getting higher capacity drivers that can handle say 24 or more LEDs? I already have a 24 kit from you.. If I want 1-3 more, thats a lot of extra hardware. I'd still want to buy your kits even if I had to outsource such drivers. If you cant get em, do you know if they are even available (preferably dimmable that work with the Profilux controller you sell). |

New colors finally arrived today.
The greens and reds are some of the brightest I have ever seen :) http://applications.ccusa.com/martin/colors.jpg All the pre orders will go out today.. thanks guys :) |
I only have an iPhone for a camera right now and usually LEDs look terrible, your probably need some kind of filter as they blind the camera. However I did my best below. This is the LEDs running from batteries so nowhere near their full output.
The reds are blinding even at this output level. http://applications.ccusa.com/martin/IMG_0962.jpg http://applications.ccusa.com/martin/IMG_0963.jpg http://applications.ccusa.com/martin/IMG_0964.jpg http://applications.ccusa.com/martin/IMG_0965.jpg |
Random thought I bet I could hang those from my christmas tree haha.

Are the XP-G cool white 5 watts?

Depending on your setup, its more likely you would run them dimmed down around 1000mA which is 3W. For high noon effects you can run a few at full power for an hour or two. They are really really bright! |
Martin, what would be recommended for a 72g tank that is 36 long, 20 wide (front to back depth) and 25 inches deep (from top to bottom)?
What kind of difference in brightness between the white XP-E and XP-G? Can they be used together in the same circuit (like a standard series of XP-E)? I dont know if you can use 5W @ 100% with 3W in the same circuit. Thanks Steve |
No you cant use XP-G and XP-E in the same circuit if you want them at 100% XP-E is 1000mA and XP-G is 1500mA so you would blow the XP-Es.
XP-G outputs 139 lumens and XP-E 122 that is running them at 350mA. Cree doesnt have data fro XP-E at full power which is weird. However the XP-G output 463 lumens at full power. For that size of tank i would recommend 2 pods each holding 28 LEDs so a 56 LED setup. Since you are 20 inches wide you could use any of our 6 inch heatsinks (6 x 9 or 6 x 12). Or I am getting in some larger 10 x 10 which gives nice coverage. 50/50 royal blue to white gives you a color around 14K or you can go 60/40 for a 20K bluer look. We also have regular blues now so you can mix Royal Blue and regular Blue for more spectrum and maybe throw in an additional Red if you want. Martin Quote:
