death to the damsels
anyone got any good ideas for getting damsels out of a reef tank? ive got 5 of them.... i think and i cant catch them, im about a couple days away from tearing all the liverock out to get them
|
why? I have damsels and they're great. I'd have more, but they tend to kill each other. Don't bother anything else tho :)

Really? meanest fish I ever had was a maroon clown. Anyways, unless you can get them into a fish trap, you might have to live with them, or drain the tank enough to catch them and fill it back up quickly. That's the worst problem with a reef, getting things out after you figure you shouldn't have added it :) I have a goby I wish would jump...

What kind of damsels are we talking about? There are lots and they behave differently.

I have a 4 stripe damsel that turns demonic and bites me everytime I put my hand in the tank but doesn't seem to bother fish?!?! I also have a yellow damsel with a peach head (forget it's common names), that's the most easy going gentle fish i've ever owned.

yellowtail blues mainly, two that are like a dark purple, a plain yellow one and a yellow with black stripes but they dont bother anything
|
My yellow tail attacked/killed 1 of my clowns in my original tank and another clown after a tank move about 4-5 months ago, had to tear my rock apart to get that little $hit bagged to donate back to the lfs.

If they are not too big, get a lionfish... Free food for it.
I have some yellowtail chromis, and some blue/green ones. The blue/green are fine, but I do hate the yellow tails. I WANT THEM ALL TO DIE!!! |
i think my 4 stripes are cute, there dicks. but only to each other, leave me my corals and inverts alone.
