20g nano led
Just took a few pics with my iphone to show my 20g. Basically its temp. until I move, with several sps frags and mostly, the home for my 11yr. old percs.
The light is the SWC Extreme LED fixture. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...s/IMG_0065.jpg Simple tank with a AC 110 filter and my MP 20 Vortech. Still run with my RK2 controller. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...s/IMG_0071.jpg I believe this is a milli of some type. Has shown good growth under the led and nice colour. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...s/IMG_0058.jpg This tri colour came from a small 2mm piece broken from another colony of a friend. Its now about 4in across, with multiple shoots growing and intense colour. http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/i...s/IMG_0050.jpg These and others never did that great under my 150w HQI for some reason, esp. colour wise. I have a piece of a brown stag that was almost completely dead. Never did have much colour, even as a huge colony in Mike,s tank under all his halides. Its now coming back, with nice bushy growth and baby blue tips. So working fine for now. Fixture is a foot over the tank and corals are not that deep in the 20g, so take it for what its worth. I can shoot much better pics with my Sony if needed. :D |
Think I better get my camera and take a decent pic of the tri colour. It at least gives the idea. The coral started from just one of those tiny tips.

Looks nice! Where are the Percs? Do you find it difficult to take pics under the LED lights? I have a heck of a time.

Only pics so far have been iphone, so no lighting problems with them. No more light problems than with my stupid 150w Phoenix. Need to get my camera out. |

You do indeed have some great color there! When and where are you moving?

Kamloops Brett. Looking more like a spring move now than fall. At our age, have to make sure medical things are taken care of before changing provinces.
I have my 35g cube in the large cabinet I made, {as per my journal thread}. Its all packed and ready to go. May go larger depending on where we reside but most likely will just keep it. Was thinking of running my halide along side the led fixture over it but halide heats the cabinet to much. Likely will get another SWC unit to run along side. Thought of one of the new Radion models but for less than $400 I can add another like mine. |
tank looks good doug. do you have any zoanthids in there by chance? i have contemplated changing over to LED but have heard that for some odd reason zoas dont do as well under LED. any personal experiance?

Wow... look at you Doug with your iPhone and nifty LEDs.
P.S. Love the growth pattern and color on the Tri-color. |

When I reset my cube up again, I was going to use both my 150 and the led fixture but now will either purchase another the same as mine for enough coverage, { 28in by 16in.} or the new Radion fixture. Quote:
The close up pics or my attempt at macro is from my Sony camera, with the cheap macro lens I purchased online, thinking it was the proper macro lens. It works as long as the subject is close enough. |

The drive north on #5 and home on #16 was impressive. Much nicer than #1. Its a joke from Banff to around Salmon Arm or so. |
