You might have a tough time finding one, as they are very difficult to keep and most die. If you do find one, make sure it is feeding on pellets, etc.... Again, most don't, but here in Calgary I have seen one LFS successfully do this. But again, is it a long term success? I am not really sure.

Personally why take a chance, leave this species in the wild.

I am aware they're difficult. Was hoping someone had one that was eating that they'd wanna sell.

Ah cool, good luck then... They are a neat fish!

Dennis @ Golds in Calgary has had success bringing them in and getting them to eat... I have even seen them eat, maybe give him a call and make a trip down to cowtown.

We've had pretty good success with getting the ones we bring in to eat frozen and pellets. They are MAC Certified to boot! I can bring one in for you if you are interested.

What it stands for is "Marine Aquarium Council"

What it probably means is it costs more

Your store is open at the most inconvinent times. I work every weekday and most Saturdays.

mr_alberta 08-11-2011 09:03 PM

Well if it helps we are open until 8pm on Thursdays...Also the Moorish Idol pricing isn't too bad.

Reefdigger 08-12-2011 02:12 AM

it's too bad your so far. i got one from Hawaii that eats pellets.

Marko save your Money.

They have a horrible track record.

Just because you have the means, does not mean you should. If anything, this fish is expert only.

MarkoD 08-12-2011 12:26 PM

I understand the difficulty. And I wasn't planning on going to the store and purchasing one. I was hoping someone would have one that's already accustomed to tank life. But clearly that's rare

paddyob 08-12-2011 07:32 PM

It is not uncommon to get them eating.

It's keeping them alive. They can eat eat eat and still die.

MarkoD 08-12-2011 09:31 PM

Oh what else can cause them to die?
