I hate to say this, but its time to start planning our 3rd annual FragFest. :biggrin:

There are a couple of possible changes that will implement this year, but are not written in stone.

• We will not soliciting sponsors, last year too many said they would help/donate, but only a few stepped up. We did this with minimal sponsorship in the past, and will do so this year. If anyone is interested in participating, please contact myself (ken@blueworldaquatic.com), or any of our staff.
• We will be approaching our suppliers for specials that they can offer us.
• We may change the date a week or so earlier, this is mainly for better weather.
• We may contact the lounge next door to open for the date we select, but we want this to remain a family and community based event. Is alcohol really needed?

We are open to any other suggestions?

Lenny & Tim, I hope I have the support of your Air Bouncer this year again, keeps the kids busy so the parents could socialize.

We will be gone Aug 22 to 28th thereabouts.
I'm sure if we run smack into the frag fest, we can always leave you with the airbounce.
You might not have the extra BBQ hand, though.

I think this year I am going to come the night before & camp out in the parking lot :lol:

I would help out with bagging frags but no one would get what they want if i have my eye on it :biggrin: I could do crowd control and bring 2 of my Huskies to guard the door :twised:

I would be more than happy to volunteer for anything you guys needed, always love giving back to such a great community! Just let me know.

This is going to be a good one. Since joining BWA we have always had such amazing clients to lent a helping hand. Thanks to everyone who has helped the store get to where it is today, and for giving us the chance to hold events like the FragFest and have the best turn outs. Hopefully this year will top all the other FragFests!

I need to nail down the date because the family changed the camping date now...
We'll still provide the Air Bounce, and personally I have tons of equipments (FW & SW) to sell/ trade. I'll try to snag my Hubby to do some BBQ-ing for you, if he's free:twised:.
Got some coral frags and lots of my mushrooms that everyone wanted last year but got sold so quickly! Come and get 'em!
Tell all your friends, esp Newbies. This is a great way to start a tank. Everyone has stuff to get rid of for cheap!

Sorry guys, been busy as heck lately.

We are looking at holding the Frag Fest a little later this year.

we considered the same date as the last 2 years, but we didn't want to have conflicting events with RC's opening in Calgary.

Every year we seem to learn a bit more, and try to listen to everyones comments.

Toomany people were still in transit from vacation during late August, and getting ready for school then.

And boy have we listened.

This year, the third annual Frag Fest will be on Sunday September 11th, 2011.

Let the fun begin... clean out your garages, basements, etc....

Airbounce will be ready, and we can set up time for picking up tables/ chairs as well.
It was a great event last year. Pretty confident that it will again be great this year, if the mosquitoes stays away!
Always worry about bug sprays and lives stocks together in close proximity.
Hopefully the weather will be nice again this year.
Tim will be helping with the BBQ again.
Also loved the name tags last year, since I am so bad at recalling names:redface:.
Dibs for all the nice corals first!!!!:twised: I plan to restock all the corals that I sell that day!

OK, FragFest 3 is schedulled for Sunday September 11th.

I will be updating this thread quite regularly for the next 2 weeks whereas you will be sick of me.

Just a quick update, we have over 150 Frags ordered and will arrive before the 9th.

5-10 gal old tanks, freshwater canister filters, air pumps, power heads, battery operated air pumps, free 1 gal jugs, free freshwater fish food and additives, plus lots of soft corals, and some hard.
Maybe we need to rent a trailer to haul all that in!

As promised, Let's Play Indoor Playground's Air Bounce will be there again this year to help entertain kids(Dawn and Lyndsy, you are WAY too big and tall to go in!! so don't even try, or our Bouncers might kick you out!:twised:Where are the Huskies??)

Lenny: Lyndsy was asking if you have a portable slush puppy machine to bring out. :)

I bet it was a blast! I was so sad that I had to miss it, I had been looking so forward to it. I haven't done anything all summer and the one occasion that I had to attend just had to happen on the same day as the BBQ, go figure =/

I heard that Wayne is planning another surprise bake-off for the next one.
