Playoff Time Again

Tis that time of year again: Let's hear your picks.

I predict Vancouver vs. Philly in the finals.

The first round of Canucks vs Hawks should be terrific, but with a different outcome this year. It went 6 games last year but the 'Nucks are a better team this year and the Hawks aren't.
In the East I'm looking forward to a Flyers/Caps series. Philly ended the season poorly but should be ready to go. And don't count out the Bruins!

Madreefer 04-11-2011 02:01 AM

Lets just hope the nucks dont have the Presidents Trophy curse. Gonna be sweet revenge to knock out the hawks. Hopefully we wont have to hear that stupid song they play after every goal for.

BlueWorldAquatic 04-11-2011 02:06 AM

Go Oilers!!!!

err, for another 1st round overall...

:)

lorenz0 04-11-2011 02:50 AM

^^^^
lol

from the west, San jose or Van; really would like to see the habs make it but washington and boston had a great year

Hard to say

toxic111 04-11-2011 02:57 AM

I think the Cuanucks have the best chance.. when you are 1st in pretty much all the stats it can't hurt. Van over Chi in 5.. got to give them 1 at home I guess, lol.

+1
We'll be better next year .

But am picking Bruins/Canucks with Boston bringing home Stanley

ponokareefer 04-11-2011 03:50 PM

I think Anaheim is coming out of the West.
They have possibly the best line in hockey, and it is built for the playoffs. Perry was awesome this year, Ryan is getting better and we all know about Getzlaf.
They have solid secondary scoring in Selanne and Koivu, and Visnovsky is awesome from the blueline.
They struggled with letting in goals this year, but the Hiller is back and healthy. Picking up Beauchemin at the deadline was good as well.
It's easy to pick the President's Trophy winner, but it rarely works out.
My pick for the East is Washington. They changed their game this year to more defensive, and I think it carries over into the playoffs.

Go Boston Go! If not the Bruins, gotta luv Philly. Sorry, I hate the Canucks:twised: They put together a good team this year though...hate to say that.

BAN this person!!!!!!!
Blasphenous drivel.
The odds in Vegas last week were 2:1 Vancouver with the next closest being Philly at 5:1

I would love to see Vancouver and Montreal

but my prediction is Anaheim vs Washington (2nd TBL) with Ana the winner

are you guys forgetting that the canucks (#1) lost two strait in a row to the Oilers (#30) just last week? not a good way to ramp up for the playoffs...

Steve

Well my team is out so...Go Canucks...but they're likely to choke.

Realistically,

Ducks vs. Bruins in the final.

Bruins FTW.

Maybe so, but those games were meaningless. They picked it up again for the last two games.
Chicago lost the last game of the season in a must-win situation. That's definitely not a good way to enter the playoffs.

vancouver to western final against sanjose, washington bos in east final

lorenz0 04-11-2011 10:14 PM

I hate Van with a passion... but not as much as I hate philly, why? because they have chris pronger. He is the one playing in the whole league that I can't stand, hell I like sean Avery over him.

but Van looks promising

Way to go Canucks! Bring on the Sharks/Wings!

lorenz0 05-10-2011 06:56 PM

I'm ready to hang myself

If the sharks don't stop them I will get super wasted running around in my sharks jersey (probably barely fits now) cursing at the sky for letting Van make it throught 1 more round. Mostly cause Van knocked out 2/3 of my favorite teams (flames are the 3rd of course)

I know how you feel: Forty years of frustration on this side of the Rockies.
That said, I hope you get falling-down $hit-faced cuz we're going to knock off the Sharks/Wings: but for Christ sake don't hang yoursefl!

lorenz0 05-11-2011 04:55 AM

Its been an interesting playoff season. After tonight its not looking good for the sharks with Ryane Clowe out (didn't see if he was playing, passed out afterwork), BUT detroit is playing one hell of a comeback.

As my friends said, you guys hosted the olympics... vancouver has to win

I just have a thing for people who hate the canucks in reg season and now jumped on that ferry. AWWW they are everywhere here. But I guess that thats with any playoffs (NFL and NHL are the only ones I care about)

strickrick 05-11-2011 11:29 AM

Lets Go Red Wings.

Give them the lead and steal it in the third seems to be the norm the last few games but I might have a heart attack if this is the case in game 7. They looked amazing last night in the Joe and I'm hoping they'll come out with the same jump in the shark tank.

I hear ya. I know people who never watch hockey yet are now driving around with Canucks flags, bumper stickers, etc. on their cars and huge posters on their homes. And suddenly there are Ryan Kesler fans everywhere. Oh well, it's good for Vancouver hockey I guess.
While it's exciting and all, I try not to get too caught up in the hype. I've been following this team for a long time, and spent far too much money on game tickets to get my hopes up too much. After all, three Conference finals in 40 years is pretty depressing.

lorenz0 05-13-2011 08:13 PM

I think its hilarious watching all the hocky fans pop up. I have to admit, I love watching hockey but I never take the time like some of my friends to memorize every players name and stats. Keep up with the standings throughout the year, try to catch as many flames games as I can....

But good for Van. I love San Jose but I am thinking Van will take it in either 5 or 6.
