I took a quick peak at their website (like 10 secs lol). Just wondering, what's the attraction to Avast Marine? They offering something obscure? Kind of a DIY and gadget site I think? What am I missing? I'm not on here much lately...

couple things... Deltac skimmer cleaner is like $1500 - Avast Swabbie is $149 - and can be used on any skimmer...

quite a few reactors under $100 - only other comparable product is the two little phishies phospate units which are no where near what Avast sells (better comparision would be the nextreef or vertex units)

they have great customer service and the owner(s) has always taken the time to share the "science" behind his product design (most recent item that comes to mind is their ozone reactor). They also offer customization where needed which alot of the major manufacturers will not do or will do for a significant price.


oh - and I would be interested in the following;

Their nano/mini reactor
magnetic probe holder
Plus he has one of the sweetest coral garden grow ops in his back yard :mrgreen:

Very interested in two of the Sicce PSK2500 Pump with Pinwheel Mod, need to replace my skimmer pumps and can't find them anywhere in Canada.

I do not have a definitive answer as of yet, this will most likely be handled through the potential future Canadian distributor, I will let him say what they will offer as an incentive.

As wes has mentioned, we are in negotiations with Avast for the last month.

As doing so we will offer be Best possible pricing for the first initial order, the larger we make, the cheaper it will be for the end user.

I am hoping to have finalized pricing within this week.

i just got an Avast ATO and its works great.

how sensitive is it? does kick in at the same level each time or is there some fluctuation?

I am still waiting till the end of the month for exact pricing

it kicks in at the same time, but it doesnt kick in if theres waves. there is a little bit of a buffer

looks like they got reactors, swabbies, ato, porthole and original skimmer.

Any news on this? I might be interested in a swabbie, and possibly other stuff if the prices are right!
