I wonder what they call the black tang...lol.

(no need to offer suggestions)

They call it a longnose tang.

I thinks this fish looks like a leucistic yellow tang or something. Incredibly cool nonetheless! Cause that does not happen often.
(Just to clarify: "Leucism is a condition characterized by reduced pigmentation in animals and humans. Unlike albinism, it is caused by a reduction in all types of skin pigment, not just melanin." -Wiki)

Thanks for sharing!
Cheers,

It must have something to do with the lights being blue as they don't show it under normal white lights!

saltcreep 03-31-2011 11:02 PM

There's another yellow tang in there for colour reference. I thought the same thing until I saw the other one.

Maybe the Tang is just Bleached :P
haha

Poor guy, i'm sure Zeovit has a supplement to bring its yellow back.

LOL! to much light.

I think I saw that a while ago on.....ReefBuilders? I'm pretty sure the guy's not for sale :)

If you look in David saxby's tank he has a whole bunch of piebald (Yellow, black and white) yellow tangs - but none of them are stunning like Casper!

asylumdown 04-01-2011 06:39 AM

Does anyone know if that's actually a separate species, or is it just a super rare colour variant of the yellow?

shrimpchips 04-01-2011 09:10 AM

It's "just" a variant of yellow. If it was a separate species, we'd see a lot more of them :)
