Dehumidifier
Dad says the house is going to rot. What's a good type? I am losing ~3 gal of water a day. Does anyone in Alberta happen to have one for sale?
|
Hey Quinn,
I have one that I purchased off of Wayner last winter. I needed it when the 90g was on the main level of our house. now it's sitting in the tank room. I think I paid $150 for it. If you want it for that it's yours. I'll see if I can find the post and how much I paid for it. |
Beleive it was $150

Let me know if you want it Quinn. |
Any idea what size it is? Is it one of the models at http://www.canadiantire.ca/search/sh...76fc858f8bf4d9 (yes, that URL works). I'll be up on the 21st it looks like (a Sunday), could I come by then? I was going to get those lights from you anyways.

It's a Kenmore, bought at Sears, we used it when we lived in the east, it's a good one, you need a good one with the Humidity in the East, think we paid $400 for it. forget how many gallons, auto shut-off, has a connection to hook a hose so you can go right to the drain in floor.
Jon has the manual. I should get a commission, or a job at Sears. |
Wow. Sounds good then. I'll take it, Jon.

Sounds good Quinn.
Wayne is right it is a great unit. Deb actually has a newer version of the same unit. I don't know if it's the same size though. It's yours! That day should work out fine for me. Get in touch closer to that day. And yes I still have the light stuff for you. Cheers |
I'm kind of surprised that in our dry climate you need one? How many of you guys use one? I've always thought of my tanks as the humidifier for the house.
Dave Really I like my bare bottom! |
It's just a matter of saving your house that's all.
here's a link to a discussion we had last year http://www.canreef.com/phpBB2/viewto...t=dehumidifier |
Wow that I find weird! Read the link Canadian Man thanks. My house seems dry, let me restate old and dry like 50 years old. My windows accumulate moisture only on the coldest of days like minus 20. I could suck a bong thru some of my leaks in the doors and such in the weather stripping. Although I have never tested my house for humidity. Something else I have to buy, a humidity what ever thing . We might have to start this debate up again and I’m going to side with Bob this time being on the old and dry side.
Dave Really I like my bare bottom. I have about 270 gal. total in the main floor of a bugalow. |
When you go overboard with the tanks....it will hit you..
|
Oh yeah...
... no joke. |

Tony said something in that post about being able to dry a carpet with a dehumidifier. I like that idea.
