your tank looks awesome

trilinearmipmap 12-08-2003 02:28 AM

Having been fortunate enough to see this tank in person I have to congratulate you on your tank Sam.

Great tank, I thought Flame Angles were not reef compatible??

Samw 12-08-2003 03:01 AM

Thanks for the nice comments. Took a while but I think the tank is almost how I want it to stay for a while. The only change I can see happening soon is moving the anemones and clownfish to their own tank and adding more acro colonies to this tank. Oh, and I'm going to replace my 96W PC with a 55W 9325K bulb to bring back some of the vivid colors from that bulb.

Marty, I've had a total of 0 problems with my flame angel. I guess it doesn't like the taste of the corals in my tank.

Happy Anniversary, Sam - looking good, man!

:bday:

(I'm thinking that 9325 bulb would make a good choice over the Rose BTAs.)

Yup, tank looks awsome. I like the aquascaping. Is that a piece of tonga branch rock in the back? It really looks good were you have it.

Aquattro 12-08-2003 03:31 AM

Looking awesome!!

Comparison Pic from Month 4 and 5 (March and April 2002)

Still with me:
2 Clowns, Mandarin Dragonette, Yellow Leather, Green and Blue Mushrooms, Colt, Purple and Orange Monti Caps, Frogspawn

Sold or given to another aquarist:
BTA, Sebae anemone, Pink Plate, Moorish Idol (just last month)

Reef Grave:
Flowerpot, Green clove polyps, Pagoda, Montipora Digitata, Pineapple (Eaten by Idol), Maxima clam, Fox coral, Pearly Bubble

So some mistakes have been made as I lost a few easy to keep corals. Notice the bryopsis. There is hope for those who are currently battling it.

Thanks AJ. Ya, that bulb should bring out the purple, red, pink, and orange.

Happy Anniversary Sam, Tank look amazing something defiantly to be proud of!

sumpfinfishe 12-08-2003 06:48 AM

As always, beauty shots Sam
Congrats

Jack 12-08-2003 08:25 AM

Nice tank as usual sam.

Bob I 12-08-2003 04:00 PM

Looks great Sam. What were the dimensions of the tank again  Just an aside, I tried an old 9325K tube on my 15 gallon zoo tank, and found most of the zoos looked wacky. I am getting astonishing coloration with the 96W csl actinic I got from J&L. I would take pics, but my micky mouse camera gets completely whacked out by those colors. :frown:

StirCrazy 12-13-2003 10:52 PM

looks nice Sam, how long you had the flame?

Steve

Samw 12-13-2003 11:09 PM

Thanks Steve. I got the Flame Angel on Feb 23, 2002.

Mak 12-14-2003 02:55 AM

Hmmm... I seemed to have missed this thread. Tank looks awesome as always :squarewi: . Love those comparison pics too  .
