Not getting e-mail notification of new posts
I have verified all my settings but I'm no longer getting e-mails when new posts are made on threads I'm subscribed to. Any Thoughts?

Shaw has blocked (black-listed) the IP or ISP that the new server is at. An idea for Titus is to see if his new ISP has a dedicated mail server that Shaw doesn't block. If so, he can set his server to relay ("Smarthost") all email to his ISP's mail server, which will then send out the messages. Often in IT you see this, as some companys only permit one mail server inside their network to send email through the firewall outbound. So all of the other servers have to relay their mail through the designated mail server. Cheers. |
Shaw doesn't like Canreef... the swines....
Yes, It's an absolute fact Shaw has blacklisted Canreef's server.... I recently forgot my password (I have close to one hundred various as I work online...). When I tried to use the normal route to request reset from Canreef, all my attempts were returned to me by Shaw!!!!!
I kid you not; I had to reach out to a forum Moderator for help... Thank You Tony!!!!!!!!!! So, I'll be hooped if I forget the danged pswd and he's not in the country.... Why does Shaw consider this site/server to have a bad reputation ?????? And, is there a way to convince them otherwise??????? Bunny p.s. I once had a three-month long battle with Shaw for blocking me from receiving emails for a co-worker, and close friend, who happens to live in Iowa. Shaw had blocked the ENTIRE STATE!!!!! I literally had to throw a hissy fit at them to allow ONLY my friend thru... they have to have control ya know..... arrrrgh.... |
It has been hit and miss for me but not getting them all.

Total hit and miss for me too. I get some email notifications (PMs & new posts) but not all of them it seems :(

I get none at all.
I emailed the people at shaw, with the email address titus sent me. Shaw wrote back and told me to let suspected spam through. Which I did and still nothing from canreef. So..... I am switching to telus in 2 weeks. ......you shaw I have had it. I have been with them for 30yrs. They bought out rogers. Yet they will not give you a deal unless you are a new subscriber. |

I sent an email to abuse and internet help at Shaw with a link to this thread. Hopefully they get around to un-blocking Canreef. I would love to get my email notifications back!

I got a reply from a very helpful individual at Shaw (I hope they don't mind me posting the response). I'm going to try doing what they suggest with the junk-mail setting in webmail.shaw.ca.

I'm on Shaw (cable modem) in Edmonton and I'm receiving notices for subscribed threads from "Canreef Aquatics Bulletin Board [support@canreef.com]" to my Shaw webmail account (XXX@shaw.ca).
How this is happening is I get them at work (I forward all my Shaw mail to my work account). I'm not seeing them though in my Shaw account in-box. No sure if this gives any assistance to how the spam filtering/blocking occurs at Shaw. |

Guys, thanks for raising this to them. And yes I was told to visit this site as well which I did. However, the subsequent part of it didn't resolve the situation. I posted the mail exchange with them, and the details they requested on this post. http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/sho...t=67615&page=3 And yes every day I am getting over 100 e-mail bounce backs from Shaw that I have to delete. The e-mails are still including a details.txt attachment with something like the following: Code:
