Well I need to order some stuff from bulk reef supply so want to organize a bulk reef supply group buy. Need 9 more ppl to form a group buy.

Here is how it works: We get 10 people to make an order from Bulkreefsupply.com and all of our orders after that we get the Preferred Customer discount. So send me your email and I'll add it on to a list. As soon as we get 10 or more people I'll send them a list of everyones email and names. They'll contact you when its ready.

So if you are interested PM me your email and I'll add it to the list!

Here's their rules...

BulkReefSupply Group Buys

We have a unique way of doing Group Buy's at BulkReefSupply.com. Instead of requiring groups to place a single large order we give each group buy participant individual access to our lowest prices. There are no purchase quantity or order size requirements. Each participant gets the lowest prices even if they only buy one item. This removes the need to organize one big bulk order, collect all the payments, and distribute the order. And this also means Group Buys at BulkReefSupply are not limited to local clubs! That's right, because orders are shipped separately group buys can involve people from all over the country and Canada.

To set up a Group Buy with BulkReefSupply.com simply:

* Gather a minimum of 10 participants
* Instruct everyone to create an account on BulkReefSupply.com if they don't have one already
* Pick a Tuesday the group buy will start. Group buys run Tuesdays through the following Monday.
* Send a "master list" of everyone participating to GroupBuys@BulkReefSupply.com that includes the following:
o First and last name (please do not include forum nicknames/handles)
o Email address associated with each participants BulkReefSupply.com's email address
o The name of the group buy and it's start date. For example, "nameofgroup May 18th 2009"

Then what? Here is what will happen after your list is emailed:

* On the pre-determined Tuesday each participant will receive an email notifying them that the Group Buy has started.
* Participants can start buying as soon as they get this email. Please wait for this email before placing orders!
* During the group buy week participants will login to their own account to place their own order, which ships immediately.
* At the end of the Group Buy each participant's account will be changed to Preferred Customer. BRS Preferred Customer pricing is generally between our retail and group buy prices. This permanent upgrade is our way of saying thanks for getting your reef supplies with us!

Just clarifing, so unless you are already a preferred customer the order that a person puts in the week of the group order buy would be at regular price and any orders after that would be priced at a prefered customer level?

IF you are in group buy and during the group buy period, no matter if you are first time or many time buyer, you will get group pricing. After the group buy is over, you get preferred customer price for life

Group Price < Preferred price < regular price

Dyspnea 10-28-2010 09:51 PM

That and is this company based in the States (Duty etc.)?

Coleus 10-28-2010 10:05 PM

Shipping is seperately and plus the currency exchange is so good right now. You do save some money tho. Whatever you pay at the end is what you pay, no extra money atyour door

jorjef 10-28-2010 11:58 PM

There is a 15% canadian flat tax charge at the time of checkout that BRS applies to all orders that avoids any extra costs at your door... I'm still in.. I need to try that carbon everyone is raving about.

cwatkins 11-02-2010 08:47 PM

Out of curosity, is the Reef Saver Eco Rock cheaper with the discount? I.E. Worth waiting for the next Group Buy to order 50lbs?

Thanks.

you only save 17 cent per lbs for group buy so probably not worth it

I dunno if it helps but I plan on ordering some and I'm in on the group order. I wouldn't know how to split shipping though.

Have you considered shipping it to a postal pickup place in Blaine or Point Roberts? That way you get the free shipping!

Now the only issue is: Is the Eco "Reef Saver" rock considered plain old "rock". It is no longer live, and hasn't been live for millions of years.

At the border, this should be considered just "rock". I don't CITES would even factor in here. It is simply plain rock that for all we care could have been picked up out of a rock quarry.

Anyone with any experience on this?

Zoaelite 11-11-2010 06:37 PM

Mine just shipped out, thanks again for the group order Tai!
Levi

Coleus 11-11-2010 07:09 PM

Mine wont be shipped until this Friday because it is a big order. Thanks for joining Levi

Delphinus 11-11-2010 07:41 PM

I just got my notifications as well. Whoohoo! ... Looks like it's coming in two different boxes.

Coleus 11-11-2010 07:48 PM

crap, just got an email that they don't have any CO2 Scrubber Kit in stock and the manufacture is out of business. My only hope to raise my ph is now gone.

Delphinus 11-11-2010 07:50 PM

Oh dang it! I totally meant to order one of those too and forgot to. That's too bad they don't have those anymore.

I still think you don't have a pH problem btw! Like many others, I too stopped having pH problems in my tanks after I stopped measuring pH in my tanks.

Coleus 11-11-2010 07:57 PM

i guess i have to unplug my ph probe because it is killing me

Hmm we can buy bulk sodalime and experiment. I guess this is why the company is out of business?

lastlight 11-12-2010 11:05 PM

What's ph?

I've never measured and don't plan to =)

Rogue951 11-15-2010 06:29 PM

Picked up my order from Point Roberts just now, Damn all these peanuts!!!! lol.

Everything's nicely boxed, no damage and so far, good stuff!
It ended up cheaper (with free shipping) if I bought $175 worth of stuff rather than the $125 and shipping and tax cross border so I just picked it up myself.

Thanks for setting this up!

Rogue951 11-15-2010 06:41 PM

This is 20 pounds of their Eco rock. (the only stuff that can be shipped to Canada)
my foot is a size 13 for comparison. lol.
And a 100count spindle of dvd's.

http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/3...1011151134.jpg

all very hole-y. a Pod's (and maybe pests's) haven, maybe this will work well in the sump until it weathers.

Coleus 11-15-2010 07:58 PM

Glad everything is good. My order has total of three packages and just got shipped last Friday. Cost was .... hmm nah that is just too depressing, looking forward to open these packages soon.:-)

lastlight 11-15-2010 08:16 PM

Is that the "reef saver" style eco rock?

Mine's not due apparently until at least Wednesday. :( I dunno, maybe they backorder some stuff rather than keep it in stock all the time?

jorjef 11-15-2010 11:55 PM

Mine is scheduled for the 16th....
