Your current in-wall is still running though right? I assume that's a construction shot from before?

yes Brett that was when Tammy was redoing the Rec Room

I still may do the inwall and yes the in wall is still running i have some one who is buying my tank and wants it soon/... I guess that i should order my tank here pretty quick.

Myka 10-22-2010 03:54 AM

I thought it was a peninsula? Looks like an in-wall?

lastlight 10-22-2010 04:02 AM

Maybe what Tony was calling it refers to a peninsular tank that gets stuffed into a wall?

I love 3 sided viewing and man I'm going to miss it with my new tank, but 96x24x24 lends itself well to an inwall style (otherwise you'd have to go island style aquascaping with pretty skinny islands) - if you went 96x30x24 or even better 96x36x24 you'd have more room to work with for 3-d aquascaping (valleys crevasses ledges etc.).

In your other spot where you're thinking peninsula is there room behind it for tank room? Otherwise everything is going to have to fit in the stand and that might be a consideration to take into account too.

Hmmmmmmmmm well you must of been here talking to the Wife Tony , we were in the hot tub and she thinks its going to look a lot better in the wall . So in to the wall it goes and to the tubs the fishes go too. once i place the order.

IN island would look a lot better, however it would be a lot better in wall plus the water access is in the Luandry room and to run a Rodi Line would be a pain....

Skimmerking 10-27-2010 01:27 AM

well here is a nice thing to see, when I was in Afghanistan I saw this pukani Rock and loved it and wanted to get some but at $10 lb pound it was wow. now with the Eco Reefer in ONTARIO. OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGg

Love the rock . well here is some of the stuff I bought 50lbs for 165 everything and it was at my house in 3 days thanks Eco Reefer.

Im buying another 50 lbs here oh ya pillars and ledges here I come I may even sell my old stuff.

Skimmerking 10-31-2010 12:05 AM

well after talking with the builder Im going to be building the tank here on site for the ease of transporting it. And after talking with a buddy of mine about where the tank is now and some of the humid problems that i have been having it in the furnace room and since I have bought a dehumidifier and had it down stairs was getting nothing , now when I take it upstairs i pull a crap load. REASON, the humid air is making its way up stairs.

there is a CATCH.... see I get to move the 60" and put in on the wall and get to move the tank out in the open on the far wall where we have the TV.. SO its going to be something like Parker's but with a tower to hide the stuff. on the end with a fake door to Enter.

So im looking for some skinning idea for the wall /stand I was thinking of the cultured rock...

MitchM 10-31-2010 01:03 AM

Mike,
You could look for a faux siding product like Genstone:

http://www.genstoneproducts.com/about/canadian.htm

It might depend on what's available in your area.

Mitch

Skimmerking 10-31-2010 09:03 PM

ok so I have moved the tv from the tank wall and still going over plans on what way this is going to be built. This is what i come up with. the right side will have a tall cabinet that either will have click on magnets or a hinge like the ones on the left.
