Aquarium Temp... What is yours?

Hello Everyone,

I run my aquarium temperature at 80 degress F, and it doesn't really fluctuate even when the fixture is on. Just wondering what everyone else runs their tanks at.

I read some articles where 82 degrees can be beneficial to coral as the increased temperature showed increased colorization and growth. Has anyone else read/seen this? and your thoughts?

I do know some run their tanks higher, not really by choice. And I guess there is some stats that show small temp swings can be beneficial. So I am just wondering should I increase temp to 82, or try to get some temp swings happening.

mine matches the temp by some island near new Zealand, cant remember what they were called. So everyday its different.

Someone was saying they saw a tank that hand no heater and no chiller and it had the best colors they have ever seen.

btw my sig shows current temp
I think its been running around 77 lately.

My tank swings from about 76 to 82 on a daily basis. My controller shuts the lights down at 82.5.

79 to 81 on the big tank: heaters & fans on controller

78 to 80 on corner tank

I have no heater running or chiller in my tank. The temp ranges from 79 - 84 ( not by choice). I would like to put in a dual stage controller to control a fan over my sump and a heater in order to keep it a little more stable.

Lights off 78
T5s don't change the temp
Halides on 80

In the fall to spring, 76-78 F.

In the summer, try to keep it at 80-83 F.

78 in the evening 80-81 during the day:)

My temp nano 76.8 all day long my 90G ran 78-81 depending on time of day

Was running 77-82 without the fans. Now 77-79 even with halides on. I am thinking about a controller because the fans are noisy and I don't want them on all the time

Nice. I can't get my below 82 in the summer with halides and fans. Is about 80 now with fans.

76F pretty much constant. I don,t want it higher because some of my coral don't like higher temperature, especialy non-photosynthetic corals.

78 at night, 81 during the day. Heaters on at night, fans on during the day.

lastlight 10-21-2010 05:07 AM

79 usually. heaters on at 78 and fans on at 80.

PoonTang 10-21-2010 06:55 AM

Heater on at 78, fans on at 79, halides off at 81. If temp goes under 77.5 or over 81.5 then the alarms, emails, and text messages on my Apex all go off

christyf5 10-21-2010 11:54 AM

77-81F
