:-) Well it is not mine but i wish i have one like this. This tank is actually in Calgary tho

Is that the one in pump hill? Heard rumors about that one lol:biggrin:

lastlight 10-12-2010 12:53 AM

How is it that such a tank exists, Tai you have permission obviously to share it and we haven't seen it before?! Lol...are you able to share more about this setup and is the owner a canreefer?

Wow, can someone arrange a tank tour of this one? I would love to see that setup, if it is really in Calgary.

kien 10-12-2010 01:02 AM

I just wet my pants a little bit..

Coleus 10-12-2010 01:45 AM

I think i should take this off because it ruins the thread :-(. This does not belong to a canreefer tank. I think we are more interested to see the biggest canreefer tank. Yes the tank is in pump hill

Actually NO!! I was interested in who in Calgary had the biggest tank period. Canreefer or not. Reason I was curious was because I over heard someone at a lfs talk about their 1000g tank and I knew that they were not on canreef. I know there are large tanks out there!

christyf5 10-12-2010 01:51 AM

All I see is a red X??

lastlight 10-12-2010 01:53 AM

Awwwww. You think your friend would be interested in presenting his/her tank here? I'm really curious what's in it and what runs it.

kien 10-12-2010 01:59 AM

Ditto!! I didn't believe that this tank was actually in Calgary but if it is I need more info on it !! See this is exactly why I started this thread. I figure someone must know someone that knows someone who has a gigantic tank, but 5000g ?!?! Holy mother Mary!!

Skimmerking 10-12-2010 02:00 AM

Alot of time people with that much money they have someone who is taking care of it and they don't have time to waste sitting on thier butts surfing like us poor reefer's do... they are out eating caviar and driking Don perri and sitting in the limo

Which is why us poor slobs need to hear about these tanks! :D. I know they are out there!

xtreme 10-12-2010 02:10 AM

Biggest private tank I've seen in town is a 10' 500g. But I have also heard rumors of a couple 1000g+ systems here and I'd love to see em.

Veng68 10-12-2010 02:13 AM

5000 is unimaginable........ 12 X 12 X 4 tall is only 4300 gallons.

Cheers,
Vic

The tank that Coleus pointed us to was at least 6' tall!!! :surprise:

lastlight 10-12-2010 02:19 AM

I think it was someone at Golds who has told me a few times a person with either a 16 footer or 1600 gallon tank buys a lot of their stock. I could be wrong on both counts but I've heard rumours like that.

Delphinus 10-12-2010 02:20 AM

For every person willing to share system info with us there are probably 20 that don't. There are for sure many tanks out there we'll never hear of, which is too bad if you think about the potential those people have to add to the knowledge base, whether they're responsible for the care and upkeep of their tank themselves or whether it's farmed out (either way).

5000 gallons - does make me wonder if that's a full-on reef tank or just one heck of a FOWLR. It's good stuff either way but you rarely see really large REEF systems. I know I sold a couple fish to a fella who had a huge system a couple years ago but it was FOWLR (incidentally he is on Canreef but never posts, and I wonder how many people fit into that category).

How come the tank linked to earlier was removed? A 6' tall tank? I'd have loved to see some details?

maybe my estimation is wrong but it is very big when u see it in person

The room is way bigger than my living room and the tank takes the whole wall on one side

Anyway, here it is again.

Hopefully, maybe someday i will get the video of the back-room to share with everyone
